“Cheap and conveniently located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011 via mobile

Very easy to find, tons of shopping and food very close. Free parking, free wifi, free breakfast (more than just continental). I wad visiting Tombstone and other surrounding ghost towns and this served as a fairly central base. Staff was polite but nit very friendly, upon checkout I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk.

“A Comfortable Place to Stay... Great Location Too..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

Hotel is pretty much what I would expect from a Marriott... clean. comfortable, with a touch of class. Location is great... walking distance to restaurants and the mall. I had a meal t the Texas Roadhouse and when you show your hotel key, they'll give you a 10% discount.. Overall, it's a great place to stay. A little bit of a drive from Tombstone, but if you want a Marriott hotel, this is the place to stay.

“Front desk staff was amazingly helpful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2011

This Fairfield is like the others. The thing that makes this one stand out is the help we got from the 2 men, Sean and Gordon, at the front/check in desk. They had a list of restaurants in Sierra Vista with phone numbers, some menus, maps of the town, and personal recommendations. We brought back a menu they didn't have. They loaned us a wine bottle opener and 2 REAL wine glasses.
Our first room was right by the elevator and ice machine. Sean let us look at 2 other rooms. It was smaller but much quieter.
TGI Fridays is a quick walk across the parking lot but unless you like many TV's on and slow service, avoid it.

“You will enjoy your stay at this hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

Arrived at the hotel and was impressed with the modest, but well kept and clean exterior and lobby. Hotel staff was the BEST in acclimating us to the area, offering restaurant suggestions and those that offered the best discounts. Other reviewers neglect to mention that it is also located next to a new mall with all of the popular retail outlets - which is a nice plus. The hotel was quiet, the pool and hot tub are heated and decent and towels are provided. The rooms were spacious, clean and aside from not providing the extra towels we requested in advance, the staff accomodated everything we requested or inquired about. Wireless internet is free with a reservation. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was clean, comfortable and featured 4 layers (something I had not seen before). It is not a large hotel and parking was easily accessible and plentiful, but i can imagine it might get crowded if the hotel is reserved at full capacity. The kids enjoyed the place. Contrary to what other reviewers claimed, breakfast (continental) was quiet ample an the hours are now 6AM to 10 AM. There was fresh waffles (you make yourself), bagels, cream cheese, muffins, English muffins, various cold cereal, apples, oranges and bananas, oatmeal, coffee, milk, tea, orange juice, yogurt, bacon egg and cheese biscuits and sausage egg and cheese biscuits. And that's just what I ate. I must add, there were MULTIPLE selections of each item, varieties of jam...oh, well, I suppose you can't please some people, right? But our extended groups was quite pleased and will be staying at this hotel for our next trip to Bisbee.

“Under going renovations, messy messy messy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2009

I stayed at this hotel for approximately five days while relocating to the local area. I am a Platinum Elite member in the Rewards Program, and have stayed extensively in Marriott hotels throughout the world. With that in mind, I recognize this hotel is located in rural Arizona, and I caveated my expectations somewhat. However, despite being in the countryside, this hotel is a Marriott, and as such should provide a certain level of consistent service found throughout the Marriott chain. This is precisely why Reward members will stay at these hotels.

Upon check-in, I tried to extend my reservation a few days since the website had not allowed me my entire desired range of dates. The clerk was unable to do so, stating the hotel was overbooked. I asked if there were not reserved rooms explicitly for Platinum Elite members, as there are at every single other Marriott I have ever stayed at. He said no, stating it was "just a Fairfield". Also, the luggage cart was unavailable to assist me in moving my four bags to my room. The clerk was unable to locate it, and actually did not even really seem to know where it should have been stored in the first place for available use.

The hotel was undergoing extensive remodeling. This was not disclosed on the website when the reservation was made. This resulted in a litany of construction workers throughout the hotel for the entire period of my stay. As a result, I kept the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door for the entire length of my stay. There were not any functional ceiling lights due to the remodeling, and visibility was poor throughout the hallways. They also removed the room numbers, and placed a barely visible/legible piece of blue tape with black writing on it with your room number. The first time I came back to my room after the numbers had been removed, I was unable to locate my room.

The clerk provided me a room with two beds. I could have used the extra space with just one king sized bed. I did not bother to call for a room change as I did not feel like messing with my luggage again.

The breakfast provided is decent, although it gets very crowded and is difficult to navigate with various people waiting on the microwave or toaster. A more spread out design to their breakfast would allow people to get their food faster and not have to waste time waiting for people to move out of the way.

Overall, this was probably the worst stay of mine at a Marriott. I probably would not return to this hotel, and would instead recommend the Towneplace Suites nearby instead. It is a Marriott hotel as well, and its rooms contain a small kitchenette.
