“Seriously disappointed”

Asked for ground floor due to mobility problems. Got a steep 8 step walk-up and long walk to an end room. The handicap parking space (only 1 in the area) was downhill. One could not hear conversations from the above room, but floor squeeking and loud sounds from plumbing was intrusive. The spa tub was broken but no sign or warning from front desk. I verified hotel had internet. It not only was totally unsecured but if you were in the trail head units, like me, there was no internet. In the lobby, there were 10 connections. My room - only two and although I could connect to the router, the router could not connect to the internet. The front desk staff, overall, were rude, impatient, and unhelpful. When I complained, I was told that "the internet is like cell phone - you don't always get service" and, of course, the fallback "it's your computer," There were two people late that Friday who tried to help but were beyond their capabilities. The room and bed was nice, including the little patio. However, for the price, I would not stay at this location again nor would I recommend it without caveat.

Room Tip: Kings Ransom and Kings Ransom Inn are next to each other. Kings Ransom Inn appears newer. They share...

“An Unpleasant stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

I was so much looking forward to our stay in Sedona, it was the highlight of our honeymoon. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told we were to pay for the room, even though we had a travel voucher and had been paid for by our travel agents. After a heated argument from the hotel staff we ended up having to pay anyway and cop not only the conversion rate from the UK but an overdraft fee as well.

The lady behind the desk when we arrived who was in jeans and who was the most unenthusiastic host I have ever come across put me off the hotel from the moment I walked in.

The rooms were less than average- no view and very musty smelling. The bed was like a brick, the air conditioning was loud. The rooms are in desperate need of modernization.

Sedona is such a magical place, and I would reccommend staying somewhere a bit closer to town- we saw some lovely places which would have been well worth the money.

The state of the room accompanied with the reception from the staff made this an unpleasant stay

“clean & comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Our stay was comfortable. The rooms were a bit musty smelling but they were clean. They have a very nice pool and a huge hot tub. The continental breakfast was the normal fare - bagles, toast, cereal, yogurt etc. The housekeeping staff was very accomodating.

Room Tip: The Inn is the newer section although the rooms are pricier

“Enjoyed My Stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Stayed a whole week from Oct. 8-15 and had no problems! First, both my friend and I thought the location was great, and my friend has been in Sedona four times, so she knows her way around. Loved the art galleries and stores just down the street from the hotel. Our queen beds were super comfortable, nice flat-screen TV, free WiFi in room, clean bath with lots of towels each day, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, coffee maker, and the mini-fridge was a nice touch. The view from our room was to die for, and it was nice to sit at the little table out on the balcony and take in the view! The complimentary continental breakfast is not bad, and it sure saves you money if you're staying an entire week like we were. It's only a two-minute drive from the hotel to uptown Sedona, so again, we loved the location and it has a great view of Cathedral rock. Would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor looking at the red rocks!

“Not Quiet!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Checked in Oct. 7th to attend the Jazz Festival. The whole first night there were partiers above our trailhead room listening to techno music until 3 am! We tried to call the lobby for two hours and no answer! Not to mention you can hear flushing toilets and showers. You can also hear traffic from your room and we were in the back of the hotel. Ugh! Never again. We will be changing hotels tomorrow!

Room Tip: Don't stay here. From past reviews we chose the trailhead room but you won't sleep through t...
