My girlfriend and I stayed at the Rose Tree Inn between Christmas and New Year's, 2011 with in-laws. Our group occupied 3 of the 5 rooms there. Our room had a king size bed and full kitchen, dining table, and was spacious.
This is not a new 4-star hotel where you have a concierge and maids that pull down the sheets at night with chocolates. It is an older, single-story property, but very clean. It is ideal for those that want a "home-away-from-home" and wish to save costs by cooking your own food and feeling like you're at home after a long hike up or jeep tour. Perhaps the greatest aspect of our stay was the friendliness of the owner, Gary, who was more than accommodating. He advised us about the best things to do in Sedona, and was so knowledgeable and spot-on about the area, we named him the 5th Vortex (a Sedona joke). One of the highlights was sitting in the courtyard at night under the brilliant stars playing the guitar, grilling rib eye steaks and having champagne to bring in the New Year. And for much of your shopping at the galleries and shops you will not need to drive as you can simply walk around the corner to the uptown strip of Sedona.
If you don't mind your accommodations being a bit rustic yet charming, this is the place for you!
