My wife and I spent 4 glorious nights in Red Rock country at the SCH. This is our fourth visit and each one has been better than the last. I based our choice of SCH on previous TA reviews and they were spot on. Kathy and Larry (your hostess and host) have created a wonderful environment in an incredible setting. It's hard to believe they haven't been doing this for decades as they have the art of "bed and breakfasting" down to a science. I promise that you will never meet two more gracious, friendly or accommodating people.
The setting so close to Oak Creek and Cathedral Rock looking east provides you with constant views of one of the most photographed areas in Sedona, not to mention easy access out the back door to hiking and wildlife "excitement". Every window in your room looks out to Cathedral Rock and the views at sunset are amazing. All restaurants and shops in the Sedona area are within a 10 minute drive. Golf in Oak Creek is about a 20 minute drive.
Your breakfasts are prepared with only the freshest ingredients and are completely up to you every day. My wife and I are certainly going to miss those amazing egg pizzas, pancakes, waffles, french toast and parfaits. Be sure to partake of an afternoon or evening snack as Kathy will always be prepared to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. There is always bottled water, soft drinks, tea, etc. available whenever you need something to drink.
There are spa facilities on-site where Kathy provides facials, hand treatments, etc. to guests. You can also arrange for massages or wraps through her to be done on-site by a masseuse from town. My wife spent about 3 hours one day in the spa room and was quite impressed with both Kathy and the masseuse.
We stayed in the Safari room which is essentially a second floor suite. The walk-in shower is huge (easily large enough for 2) with dual shower heads. The soaker tub is likewise huge. Dual sinks and marble everywhere made it feel like home. They provide you with several pillow options for your sleep number bed. They have Direct TV on the room's flat screen TV, but really, with the views, the TV is rarely on! They also provide you with robes, slippers and an in-room safe in the huge walk-in closet.
The outdoor area of the grounds are quite beautiful as well. They have an outdoor firepit area, outdoor dining area, walking paths and as mentioned above, a path that leads you in about 5 minutes to the banks of Oak Creek and the beginning of a hike to Cathedral Rock.
We are most certain to return.
