“Hiking Getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Very nice hotel. The rooms were huge and the beds very comfortable. The shower was massive - 2 shower heads, but no door, so if you turned on both of them the water flooded onto the bathroom floor.

The location is very convenient if you are planning on hiking the trails on the west side of town (Boynton Canyon area, Chimney Rock and Coffee Pot).

Walking distance to a number of restaurants, but the sidewalk is extremely dark at night - the only light is from the cars going by. Ate dinner at Reds one evening. The food and service were very good, although our table was right next to the bar area with just a divider separating us. There was a large and very loud and somewhat obnoxious group in the bar right behind the divider that kind of ruined the dining experience. There were a number of empty tables in Reds, so not sure why they chose to seat people in that area.

Overall a good hotel. Would recommned it and would stay here again.

“wonderful hotel and spa in a wonderful location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Very comfortable rooms with great bathrooms. Restaurant "Reds" was great. Had a massage and it was a wonderful experience as well. I would have no hesitations about staying here again and again.

Room Tip: Rooms with mountain view for sure, but at a cost.

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We did a one day side trip from Vegas to Sedona. I selected this hotel based on pictures and reviews on the internet. We were not disappointed. I wish we could have stayed more than one night, so unfortunately, we did not have time to experience the spa and although the pool looked very inviting, the weather was still a bit chilly. Room was perfect. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the pool, loved the rain shower in the bathroom which was very large, bed was comfortable, amenities were great, and staff was very friendly. Had a fabulous dinner and breakfast at Reds. It far surpassed our accommodations in Vegas. I didn't want to leave.

“Girls' weekend getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

My husband and I have stayed at Sedona Rouge several times and we've always had excellent service and very comfy rooms, so when it came to planning a girls weekend, there was no question as to where we'd be staying. The concierge staff did a wonderful job of keeping in touch with me regarding our restaurant reservations and early check-in request. The friendly front desk staff was very helpful and was able to accommodate an early check-in. I had brought a vase of flowers as a surprise for one of the girls (the weekend was in honor of her), and they were even kind enough to slip it into her room before she arrived.

The spa was nice. The women's locker room was a little on the small side and the lockers configured as such that if there were already two people in the area, you'd have to wait until they were done to access your belongings. Two in our party had massages--one said hers was nirvana, one said her massage therapist wanted to have a conversation (why do they do this??). The other two of us had body treatments that involved exfoliation scrubs. We'd both had scrubs at other spas, and they've been applied in gentle, circular motions. Here, we both had the same experience--long strokes with a heavy hand. It reminded me of using sandpaper on wood furniture, but at least we knew we were thoroughly exfoliated! If it had been too bad, we would have mentioned it to the spa staff, but I just wanted to mention it in the review in case anyone else was booking a treatment thinking they were going to get a gentle, relaxing scrub treatment.

“Really nice experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We did the Luxury Link package at the Rouge and it was delightful. Beautiful, spacious room with gas fireplace and a view of the rocks. Shower had both a regular shower head and an overhead rain shower, which was really nice. Lots of towels, excellent mattress and pillows. Nice meal at Reds, comfortable bar scene and excellent massages at the hotel spa. The Luxury Link package is definitely a bargain and the hotel more than lives up to its promise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the rocks. Not all of them have a view
