“Romantic, relaxing and just right”

When I made my reservations the lady that helped me was very helpful and friendly. I don’t remember her name, but she was also working when we checked in. She was able to get us an upgrade because it was our anniversary. That made all the difference in our stay and was so much more fun and relaxing. The room was beautiful, the whirlpool tub awesome, the staff was friendly and the location ideal

“great value and good location for hiking in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Spent 4 nights here in early December, 2 nights in a king corner suite and 2 nights in a queen suite. It’s a little out from the primary tourist shopping district and commercial development, but still pretty close, in case you are there to shop. I was in the area to hike and the hotel is not too far from many trailheads, e.g., 5-10 miles to a variety of hikes.

Pros:
Both the king corner and the queen suites are spacious, lots of room. Each had a wet bar (fridge, micro, sink, coffee maker), which was handy for keeping food and drinks. In the queen suite, the sleeping area is separated from the sitting area by the wet bar.
The rooms were clean, comfortable. The king suite was on the ground floor, landscaped but no views from the room, even though they called it a view room; could see shrubs, then traffic intersection. The queen suite was on the second floor and had a nice view.
The breakfast included hot items eggs, sausage links, waffles, real oatmeal (not instant); usual cereal, bread, bagels pastry, good amount of seating area.
The concierge was very helpful in recommending trails, and the staff was generally nice, helpful.
Internet access in the room was easy to connect and always worked.

Cons:
In both rooms, there was a lot of noise from street, people outside, and in room above; have to run the fan to drown out noise.
Heat/air unit is noisy.
The couch in the queen suite had very saggy cushions.
Fitness room is pathetic; a weight machine and one flimsy elliptical. Also the room was really cold, with the thermostat set at 50.
Both the in-room coffee and breakfast coffee are pretty bad; if you are staying for a few days, consider bringing your own.
The website advertises a guest laundry, which was important to me because I was staying several days, but it was not available. I got different answers depending on who I asked – that it was out of order or being remodeled or something.

Other:
Pool looks nice but I didn’t use it.
Hot tub nice, maybe too hot. right at entry of hotel and not well screened from in and out traffic.
They allow dogs and sometimes I could hear barking, but in general the people make more noise than the animals.

Overall, I like the hotel and would probably stay here again if I were in the area. It was a good base of operations for my hiking adventures in the area. Also a very good value for the price, especially since I got an internet rate for booking directly with the hotel’s website.

Room Tip: get a room away from the street.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time now to share your thoughts. These are so valuable in helping us improve our product and service. I was especially glad to hear you enjoyed our room amenities, breakfast and location. All of Sedona is 5 miles long which makes everything within about 10 minutes drive. We are also one of the closest hotels to the Seven Canyons hiking and biking areas. Our goal when we built the hotel was to get a little out of the hustle and bustle of uptown and it has been a positive point for guests thus far. Regarding your comment about the gym, we wanted to let you know that for a nominal fee we do offer a discounted pass to a facility right down the street if you desire more than we currently offer. As a result of your comments, we’re looking into how we can do better about letting guests know as well as scouting options for property improvements.

And lastly, yes, book directly with the hotel for the best rates. Either jump to the specials page on our website or call us (800-353-1239) and we will give you the very best rate available.

Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you will visit again soon!

“Nice stay, decent breakfast, useful concierge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel one night in November on a short trip to Arizona.
The bedroom was standard, comfortable bed, large room with TV, I must say the pillows were cheap/uncomfortable but this is a small detail. The breakfast was included which was nice, the food was good enough. The hotel also has a (free) concierge service with whom you can get touristic information, plan your day and also make reservations. This was very useful.
The only odd detail about the bedroom was that it had a little kitchen, however, the sink was common with the bathroom (there was only one) and there was no door to the toilet, you had to close the "kitchen" door. I mean we were not warming up food or anything but if that is your intention, it might be a bit weird.
However, we liked our stay and I recommend it.

“Great Value for the Money”

Room was very comfortable and clean. We had a Suite that had a gas fireplace and a TV in the sitting area and one in front of the bed.No bed bugs...I checked. It's one of my big fears.Bed was comfortable and the included breakfast was pretty good. Scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt...apparently they will be expanding their breakfast space and offerings in a few weeks. But we were satisfied with the way it is now. Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful as was Tod the Concierge. He helped my fiance and I with scheduling activities, restaurant ideas and discounts for various attractions. The only downside is that they were doing construction on some rooms that were near ours but it wasn't too bothersome as we were out most of the day anyway. On our last night they were sawing something at 7:30pm but we called the front desk and it promptly stopped. I would return again. January was a great time to visit as the area is pretty quiet.

Thank you for your generous review. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience the construction noise may have caused your family and it's good to hear it was immediately taken care of. That is very important to me. Please note, as of February 1st all construction will be limited to one building and in the meantime, we are taking into consideration the comfort of all guests. By early spring we'll have 29 beautifully renovated suites. We hope get a chance to visit again this year!

“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We booked a standard room for two nights at an affordable price. We were delighted with the room in all regards and very much enjoyed the continental breakfast that included waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausages as well as cereals, muffins, bagels, toast, and fruit. We were thrilled with the location - hiking the Boyton Canyon and Doe Mountain.
