In late December 2011 we came from all over the U.S. for a family reunion at this hotel. Our organizers arranged for our rooms and activities in the complex. Prices are reasonable and discounts are available online direct (www.hsrscottsdale.com). The location is "light industrial," or an older business area -- but once you go inside the complex you find spacious facility "sections" with 3 outdoor pools and amenities including 2 lighted tennis/basketball courts, barbecue grills, laundry facilities, etc. It is 5 miles northeast from Sky Harbor Airport (complimentary shuttle service from 7 am to 10 pm). It is located in Scottsdale at the border of Tempe. Wireless Internet is free. Breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel complex is free. Nightly in late afternoon there is a complimentary cocktail party in one of the outdoor "sections." Local calls are free, and parking is free. The HSR features 210 suites with equipped kitchens, some larger than others (with surcharge). I understand there have been management changes for both HSR and its restaurant, possibly giving improvements. The front desk personnel are knowledgeable, courteous, accommodating. This is a great value, just follow the rules (no pets). I cannot see why anyone would not give this property high marks and recommendations.

This inexpensive place is all it claims to be--except I wouldn't really call it a resort. It's a motel with several pools, BB courts and tennis courts. I was skeptical about the free unlimited happy hour, but it was limited only by the length of the line. Of course, one should always tip the bartender. The room was clean and comfortable, though the AC was fairly noisy. The kitchenette was a bonus and the real sit-down, order off the menu breakfast was decent.

As organiser of a group of golfers we returned to Scottsdale and used this hotel again but our overall experience fell short of our previous ones. The breakfast and restaurant service was not as efficient and various mistakes with orders occurred throughout the week. The bar seemed to randomly close at night due to not being busy which was a pain when we returned from other venues. The other problem was with the golf bookings. We left the UK with an itinerary but on arrival the hotel had changed 4 of the days swapping courses around. I had to query this and never actually understood the reason why. The rearranged itinerary wasn't without problems with a tee time mix up and a double booking - not what you want as organiser. I had to do all the chasing to try and confirm things. This had never occurred on previous trips but I understand the previous golf director had left so perhaps there is the answer? Anyway we will not return here again as there are plenty of competitive options.

First time at the wonderful Hospitality Suites Resort for one week of business in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. We'll Be Back!! Was like stepping back into the world where business owners cared about their guests as people, not just numbers. We were picked up at the airport in a new, sparkling clean van by Lucas and zipped to the hotel where check in was fast, efficient and concerned about our comfort and happiness with our room choice!! Had a one bedroom with full kitchen (including oven!) as I prefer to cook my own meals. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN with all we needed for a one week stay. Free breakfast was wonderful..always hot and fresh. Cocktail hour was a great time to sit outside by the pool and unwind and meet other guests (and the owner, too!). Though we are not regular cocktail hour people, we fell for it's charms and joined in for a glass of wine three of the seven nights we were there. Yes, it's an older property with some signs of "wear and tear" but did I mention CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and extremely well maintained?? We've stayed in top hotels all over the world; last trip to Scottsdale we rented a high end condo for the week. Where we will go back to?? The Hospitality Suites Resort, of course!! (Bldg. B & C are the quieter buildings so be sure to ask. They will do all they can to accomodate you for sure.)
