“Clean, great service, but not environmentally conscious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

This is a wonderful hotel to stay with. The price is affordable. The decor and suites are clean, modern, and spacious. There is a free continental buffet style breakfast served in the lobby which was delicious. Hotel staff were lovely and were able to answer any question that I had. The location is directly across from a lovely strip mall and close the 101 loop so easy access to other parts of Scottsdale and Arizona. 10min drive to old town/downtown Scottsdale -- which is a must see while you are there.

The drawbacks of the hotel were:
1) gym did not have spray clean bottles to wipe down equipment
2) towels are changed in the room daily -- even if they aren't used
--- a suggestion would be to put a towel swap policy in place e.g. if it's on the floor = to be washed or if you would like to keep it, leave it on the rack. There is no need to waste water for clean towels
3) there are no recycling bins in the rooms
4) for the lobby buffet -- styrofoam is used!! From a cost and environmental perspective I am not sure why this hotel does not switch to actual plates / cutlery...everyday there were piles of styrofoam and plastic being disposed of in the trash rather than recycling

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

I had a clean and quiet room. The place iss quiet also close to the highway. The bathroom and shower was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and warm. Nothing to complain. - THANK YOU! - What I would like to recommend is: The breakfast would benefit from more fresh fruit, like pinnaples and melones and other seasonal fruits. Pinnaples and melones served sliced would be outstanding and add great value to a healthy lifestyle.

“Quiet amongst the chaos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Although near the 101 expressway and Shea Blvd it is very quiet. Clean, comfortable hotel. A little difficult to get in and out of sue to traffic on Shea. A good idea is to go up to 90th St. which has a light. They put some heat in the pool which is nice. Also a hottub and pretty garden area. Breakfast is good, large room with lots of tables and (2)waffle makers. Plenty of parking and it is free. Room included a microwave and mini-frig which came in handy. Walking distance to restaurants(Red Robin) and shopping which includes Fry's Grocery. Only complaint is bed was fairly soft, after two nights it was tough on the back.

“nice motel for the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

In a city where everything is overrated and overpriced, this motel is a great departure from the norm. Rates obviously vary, but we stayed at a very reasonable rate for the prime season. The room was very comfortable, plenty of room. The chain has made some solid upgrades to their motels and this one was no exception. The bed was nice, there was a new plasma tv, and nice towels. A filling breakfast is also included. The staff was friendly and the location very convenient.

You're not getting the Ritz, but you're not paying for it either. We would definitely stay here again provided we got the same kind of rate. Very nice facility.

“Needs an upgrade”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This is a good place to stay if you are on a budget. It's fairly clean, however, the furniture and electronics could use an upgrade. The hide-a-bed couch's "mattress" was so thin and worn down that you could feel the bars underneath poking in your back. It was very uncomfortable to sleep. The beds were alright and I would only book the room if you plan to sleep on the beds and not count on the pull out couch for one of your guests to be sleeping on - you may have a better time making a bed of the cushions and sleeping on the floor. The TV's are old, not your flat screen TV's that you may be used to seeing. But who goes to AZ for TV, right? The pools were nice. I liked that there was a pool located off the lobby with a hot tub that was really only ever used by adults, because there was another pool located across the parking lot at the back of the hotel that had a lazy river and a slide for the kids along with the waterfalls, and kids/toddlers pool. The "kids" pool in back was VERY loud, so for a nice, relaxing, quiet nap in the sun, use the pool by the lobby.

On this trip we booked a suite with two twin beds and a pull-out couch and there were 3 adults and one child. It was a tight squeeze, but we made it work. For this number of people to stay comfortably, I would recommend a two room suite.

It's not located near downtown, you need to rent a car to comfortably travel to and from downtown or any of the shopping centers, but it is only a 10 minute drive to downtown.

There were great activities for the kids. They even had a babysitting option where you could drop off your kids for their "coyote camp" during the day for a nominal fee if you wanted/needed a break. :)

Room Tip: Don't get a room that is on a main walking path, you hear everything that is going on outside an...
