Not wanting to spend over $200 to be on the Mayo Clinic compound, we choose the Sleep Inn, 2 miles away, at a Mayo price of $109 per night. When we arrive, a sign in the Lobby Welcomed my Sister by name as "Guest of the Day". In our room was a basket of goodies and a card for her also, from the Front Desk. They really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Cookies were available at the Lobby when we checked in.
The room is small but has everything we need; 2 comfortable beds, bathroom with outside Vanity and sink, big shower, fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, free wifi (not secured, but totally acceptable), and smoke free. Complementary Breakfast in the morning runs from 6-10 and is just down the hall.
A free 24 hour shuttle takes us to and picks us up from the Mayo Clinic whenever we need.
The gal at the front desk provided us with coupons and a map of nearby restaurants. We ordered from Carlos O'Briens and they delivered to our room, no extra delivery charge, and it came really fast (like 15 minutes). Other restaurants near by will do the same I hear. Menu's are provided in the rooms for many of these places and were much appreciated as it had been a long day for us. My Sister has cancer, the reason for our trip here to the Mayo Clinic.
It is quiet, the air conditioner is working well. We have no complaints and we would highly recommend the Sleep Inn.
