Arriving at 1:00 in the morning (3:00 by my body time), to a City I was unfamiliar with, and just booking hotel with a package through Expedia - mainly on price and near the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, I was more than pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered the lobby. Everything was clean, neat, and the hotel staff greeted us weary travelers. We were quickly checked in, and given our room key. Our room was very nice, extremely clean, had a sitting/desk/tv area and had 2 double beds in another "room". The bathrooms were very clean, nicely stocked. The mattresses were very comfortable, and this hotel was particularly quiet. The room came with breakfast, and the breakfast area was always clean, well stocked, offered something for everyone, including make your own waffles, a family favorite of ours. The breakfast hostess was at the ready all times keeping coffee refilled as well as restocking the food items, and promptly wiped any spills and cleared tables. Free parking was included. The property was very nicely landscaped. I always felt very safe, and the side door was hotel key card protected. I would definitely choose this property again for either business or pleasure. Close to shopping, restaurants airports and attractions.

I made reservations for our stay four months in advance but despite this front counter staff placed us in a handicapped room that was well below par. Broken lamps, peeling trim, smells, slow drains, etc, When we asked to be moved all we got was "Sorry it is first come first serve and we are all full" The fact that we made our reservation four months ahead did not count for squat. I doubt we would return.

This hotel is in a good location and in my mind priced less the other properties in the area making it a good value. Very friendly staff that help me out everytime I asked them something. Only suggestion is get flat screen tv's for the rooms.

We travel to Scottsdale a fair amount "for fun" and have stayed in lots of different places. Although this is not one of your upscale Scottsdale resorts, it has lots of COMPLIMENTARY amenities that I consider important - free wi fi in the room and all around the hotel (which worked great), free breakfast (that was pretty good - yogurt, waffles, sausage and eggs, bagels, etc.) free passes to local gyms if you want them, a nice pool, and a room that included a microwave and fridge. The room is very very large (if not a bit of an odd layout - as another reviewer pointed out, the TV is in an odd location). It does, however, have one of those side unit a/c units---we visited when the weather was nice so we didn't need to use it, but I usually hate those things, so it would probably be a different story during the summer! Nevertheless, staff was very nice, and overall I think you get a LOT for your money - I also LIKE the location in North Scottsdale - lots and lots of shops and restaurants nearby, including Kierland Commons.
