This is a 12 year old property that was originally intended to be a resort style Marriott but got redirected into a full-service model. Subsequently, you have an ultra-nice property. Apparently they forgot to drop the room rates accordingly because it tends to come with higher rack rates. Nonetheless, a very good experience- nicely designed clean, comfortable rooms. I had a small suite which had adequate space, a sink, fridge, flat TV and golf course view (not affiliated with hotel). Very friendly staff, free parking. There is no Concierge Lounge here however Marriott Rewards members are given daily free breakfast buffets, which is otherwise overpriced at $20. The location is so-so, it is in a loosely spread out business park of some sort that caters to the medical field and also adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport- with planes approaching the runway (smaller planes, not a commercial airport). I found the noise not to be a factor and the airport seems to have only light traffic. Nice bar area with an ace of a bartender, “Tommy.” They plan on redoing the lobby in June, some type of concept with a huge TV, sport-sy feel. Currently food prices are expensive, drinks moderate. Good business and leisure choice, but watch your wallet. Runners can enjoy a nice 4-5 mile sidewalk run. For golfers, the Scottsdale TPC course is 2-3 minutes away, as well as a separate and adjacent links course. About 25 miles from PHX airport.
Room Tip: Ask for a golf course view
