“Great Hotel for Business or Pleasure”

This Marriott has been my home away from home for the past six months as I've traveled to Scottsdale weekly for work. It's my first choice of hotels in Scottsdale.
Quiet location next to a golf course with beautiful views. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The suite-style rooms are a plus for anyone staying more than a night. Great onsite restaurant with patio dining provides relaxing environment. Marriott quality brings me back week after week.

“Good business or leisure choice...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This is a 12 year old property that was originally intended to be a resort style Marriott but got redirected into a full-service model. Subsequently, you have an ultra-nice property. Apparently they forgot to drop the room rates accordingly because it tends to come with higher rack rates. Nonetheless, a very good experience- nicely designed clean, comfortable rooms. I had a small suite which had adequate space, a sink, fridge, flat TV and golf course view (not affiliated with hotel). Very friendly staff, free parking. There is no Concierge Lounge here however Marriott Rewards members are given daily free breakfast buffets, which is otherwise overpriced at $20. The location is so-so, it is in a loosely spread out business park of some sort that caters to the medical field and also adjacent to the Scottsdale Airport- with planes approaching the runway (smaller planes, not a commercial airport). I found the noise not to be a factor and the airport seems to have only light traffic. Nice bar area with an ace of a bartender, “Tommy.” They plan on redoing the lobby in June, some type of concept with a huge TV, sport-sy feel. Currently food prices are expensive, drinks moderate. Good business and leisure choice, but watch your wallet. Runners can enjoy a nice 4-5 mile sidewalk run. For golfers, the Scottsdale TPC course is 2-3 minutes away, as well as a separate and adjacent links course. About 25 miles from PHX airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a golf course view

“Nice resort property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

This is what you expect from a Marriott property. Friendly, professional staff. Spacious suites and a good restaurant.

Location is very convenient to shops and restaurants at Kierland. Golf courses nearby, too.

We wil be back.

“Great Go to Hotel/Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We live local!
We stay here to/from the airport. We have stayed here at least 20 or 30 times…some times for the night, some times for the weekend, and a few times for longer. It is always clean and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Our only real complaint is the 12.99 for the daily Internet charge. That’s really overkill, when motels throw it in with the room rates.
It is really a " two fer" in that it has a bed room/living room combo, so on those rare occasions when we have had to bring our “adult” son along and didn’t feel the compelling need to book him his own room (like the night before a huge trip) he was fine on the pull out sofa bed. The bathroom has a great tub and an adjacent shower. There are two large screen televisions, with a good line up of cable channels such as Fox Business, and also Pay Per View movies. There is a nice little fridge, some soft robes to use for the night, and if you park yourself the parking is free.
The pool is nice, the restaurant is good, there is a fitness room on site. The resort is situated on the golf course, and a small gift shop that has snacks (often times they let you shop in there on the honor system which is commendable).
Room service is limited but works when you get back from a rock concert and are starving as we have been on numerous times. The chips and salsa are excellent. We can also vouch for the shrimp cocktails. Ask for horseradish!
In the summer the rates are sooo reasonable. Booking direct with Marriot, the “suites” are 79.00. Of course the temps outside sometimes hit 115. It’s a dry heat! ☺ During the winter though, the same room can be upwards of 400.00. The months of Jan/Feb are especially busy with high-level golf tourneys and the auto auctions.
I hate to write this review because I don’t want this secret to get out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a patio near the lawn area!

“Perfect for us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We needed somewhere close to family for the holidays and this hotel fit the bill. Located in a business park, it is very close to the 101 freeway and thus perfect for us. We needed a dog-friendly hotel and this place not only took dogs, it was perfect and very accomodating for our Fido. Two room suite with a patio door out to a lawn and a super comfy bed made this place a winner. Would definately stay again.

Room Tip: If you want a dog friendly room, ask for the garden level suites so you have direct access to the gr...
