I stayed in the hotel for a conference I attended and my husband came along. Overall, it was a nice property. My check-in expeirence was great, a young lady was very patient in helping locating a room to our satisfaction, and took the time to explain everything including the Fairmont membership. The rooms are not big, but the design is such that it feels spacious, and not plain. The Nespresso machine was a huge darling and the housekeeping replenishes the supply often. Overall, furnishing and sheets are of higher quality than that in Phoenician or Royal Palm. There were a number of pool areas and both well appointed. Room service was efficient and pleasant.
Unfortunately, we didn't have time to use the spa. One thing that was bothering and I heard from a number of conference attendees was that the shampoo and lotion provided in the guest room is of a scent labeled "Rose 31", and how very awful was that smell. We also had some issues with internet connectivity during the last two days of our stay.

From the moment you arrive, the service is spectacular. The property is beautiful, a bit large and complicated to navigate, but overall a wonderful place to stay. We upgraded our room to one overlooking the pool. The weather was great during the day and cool at night. Plenty of "warming" stations everywhere. Most of our eating was off property, but the Bistro in the morning was delicious. My wife's visit to the spa was a smashing success. All in all, a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Two big thumbs up.

We made a quick trip to Arizona in search for some sun. The Fairmont has large grounds where we enjoyed a nice walk in the morning and then sat outside with a drink at night at their outdoor fire pits. They even have a pond you can fish in which was a favorite for our son. You can rent the fishing poles at the tennis shop -- we caught several fish using only bread for bait! The South Pool was warm enough to swim in even though the outside temp was not that high. The rooms are nothing to highlight but were clean and worked just fine for our family. The spa was better than most Fairmont spas with it's own rooftop swimming pool and several areas to relax.

The cold reference was to the lack of intimacy at this property. After the bell staff walked us to our room (which is not a bad idea given the complexity of navigating the grounds), we felt rather disconnected. Not sure how else to say it; we did not feel that way after staying at the Biltmore a couple of years back. Althugh the grounds are quite nice, the building exteriors have a condo property feel. The room we were assigned was nicely appointed with a pleasant garden view from a balcony. Nice bath and shower.The main pool was a very short walk away. The pool was relaxing the first day; the second day it seemed to be overtaken by 30-something sales folk at a conference who acted like 20 somethings in Cancun. Pool area could have been cleaner (used towels and dishes sat for long periods). One disappointment: room was never made up until after 3:30 pm each day (thought that consistently late). Found it rather annoying to pay for self-parking (atop a healthy room rate). I would return, although we found the Biltmore more to our liking (except for the location).
