“Nice Surprise”

Pleasantly surprised by the accomodations - a 1 bedroom suite - these units have been updated - hotel is located off Shea and 56th - bed was great and the mini kitchen took care of our inhouse needs -- golf course was average - hotel staff was very friendly however there presently is no bar or restaurant on the premises.-however there are many restaurants in the area ---the grounds are in great shape and they have an activities person who leads hikes, etc in the area ---we willl come back here again as the location and units are hard to beat.

“Spacious time shares available for nightly rental”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This is a faboulous older golf resort that has spacious luxury apartment like suites available for nightly rentals. The only downside is that at the time of our stay the common facilities were undergoing renovation and there was no restaurant or lounge, but each unit is equipped with a spacious kitchen. The grounds are incredibly beautiful as well. Highly recommended for an extended stay.

“Nice, quiet rooms, attentive staff, parking can be a hassle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We stayed here in late January 2012 on a timeshare exchange. The property is very spread out. Our room was large, comfortable, up-to-date - the mattress was awesome! There is a full-size fridge, a tiny sink, and a microwave (no stovetop) in the "kitchen" area. They are doing some renovating in the lobby area. I think they may be opening up a restaurant in the future, altho during our stay you could still eat breakfast and lunch on the patio. The pool/spa area was right in front of our building (#6), but it was quiet even while in use. Beware that the parking is a pain. If you stay in buildings 5 & up, you are going to have a quite a walk to get to your room. They do have golf cart bellhops if you choose to spend your vacation $$$ on tips. We used a bellhop to get our bags & foodstuffs into the room but then walked to and from the car the rest of the week. It seemed like most folks were back in at the resort after 4 p.m. to get the closest parking spots - and those spots end before building 4. Also, the only guest laundry area is near the pool area in front of building 6. We would stay here again (if our favorite resort in Scottsdale wasn't available) due to the quiet atmosphere & convenient location. At least we'd know ahead of time that our days of hiking will begin at the resort vs. at the trailhead.

“Beautiful rooms, comfy beds, annoyed front desk clerks.”

We spent 7 days here over two weeks. We are very pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the splendid grounds, and convenient location.

However, parking here is a major inconvenience. Be prepared to walk at least a half-mile to their farthest room.

We have received a tepid reception at the front desk over several visits. Chris and Erin are the real superstars. But the rest of the crew are sniffy and annoyed by guests. Unacceptable by anyone's standard.

Aside from that, this is such a lovely hotel. The grounds are exquisite. And housekeeping staff are prompt and quite pleasant.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Very nice room, although with a couple of small inconveniences. There is no place to hang anything up in the bedroom; a couple of hooks or something would at least be nice. There is also no logical place to set up a laptop. I wound up using the extra counter space in the bathroom and sitting on the bench provided which was much too low. Also the windows do not open.
That being said - the bathroom was sybaritic with a huge walk in shower, jetted tub, good storage and two sinks. The golf course is not the most challenging, but is beautifully maintained with good fast greens.
The highlight is the staff, all friendly, cheerful and very helpful. Special mention to Dave the bellman.
We would go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to parking if you don't want a long walk to your car.
