What a nice change from your average chain hotel. Don't mistake the hip, retro look for rundown. This is a very well-maintained property. The room was good size, very large patio, very well-appointed, and the free wi-fi signal was strong (a frustration at some places). The staff is extremely friendly from the front desk to room service to maintenance people on the grounds. The rooftop deck is a great place for a party. The Fitness Center was first rate, both in equipment and amenities (free ear plugs, towels, water, computer/tv screens). I was there for a conference and didn't have high expectations for our box lunch. I was wrong. The sandwich was very good as was the reston the many items they put in the box. The property is not far from PHX and a short walk to some nice restaurants. I didn't eat in ZuZu, but it looked cool.
The only ding I could give this place (and it's a small one) is that the ice machines are not on ech floor and can be hard to find (the one I found was outside between the buildings).
Hotels don't usually impress me, but this one is very good!
