Clean Rooms... All utilities operational and working properly... easy access to 101 loop... front desk personnel were polite and most willing to help towards responding to questions and/or offering suggestions regarding the area.

I am actually still here at the Hilton Garden Inn on Princess Drive in Scottsdale, AZ and have one more night to go on my 2 night stay. This being my first time in Arizona and my third time staying at a Hilton Garden Inn, I am very impressed! (FYI, I would consider myself to be pretty picky when it comes to hotel stays) The outside of the Inn is very well maintained and landscaped and the staff is super friendly. It was an easy check-in and when I asked for a recommendation on a place to eat, she gave us a typed up list of places in the area and told me which restaurant she recommended. Our room is extremely clean, and housekeeping gladly gave us the extra towels and shampoo we requested. Last night we ordered from the American Grill restaurant in the hotel and the waiter had a great personality and was very helpful. The pool is 5 star resort quality and I look forward to utilizing it again today, while my Man-friend is at his meetings :D As far as the "dirty" carpets- come on, people walk on them and they just have general day to day wear. Also, we have room 229 (and are non smokers) and there are no traces of cigarette smoke at all. My only small "complaint," if you will, is the bed is a tad firm for my liking, but thats just my personal opinion. Ok, so the moral of the story is: stay at this location, you won't be disappointed!

I probably stay at 10-15 different Hilton Gardens every year - and while I generally find them to be well-managed and consistently a good value, this one is a cut above the normal Hilton Garden. Hotel is nicely designed - rooms are good. Exercise room is excellent - new, high quality equipment. Every staff member I met - including the cleaning staff - were more than pleasant - they were practically effervescent.

Only negative is that they have installed a new energy saving thermostat in the rooms that has a motion sensor. In understand and appreciate the need for conserving energy - but the system assumes that if you are in the room you are moving consistently enough to keep the air conditioner running to maintain a comfortable temperature. A logical assumption when one is awake - but when you go to sleep - you don't move enough for the system to realize you are in the room - or at least I don't. So the thermostat turns off the air conditioner. Twice during the night I woke up hot and covered in sweat... I had to sit up, turn on the lights, and wave my arms around to get the thermostat to recognize that I was there so that they air conditioner would run... very annoying. I assume there is probably a way to fix this - but I wasn't in the mood to inquire at 3am... Don't know if others have this problem - or if this was a malfunctioning unit in my room, but just a word of caution...
