Very nice hotel for a business conference location. Great rooms and service. Up to the usual, high, quality standards of the Westin hotels.

Loved the never ending river and the swimming pool area. Floating down the never ending river while drinking a Margarita was just perfect for unwinding after the conference.

The service was excellent. Attentive, competent and friendly.

The location is great. The facility is great. The weather is great. But all of that doesn't give it the fifth star. That comes from the staff. Specifically, Melanie C. She was our "personal" concierge and helped us to enjoy to the fullest every aspect of our stay. One day, we decided not to bother her and found our own place for lunch. Only mediocre meal of our stay in Scottsdale. We didn't make that mistake again. Whether looking for places to eat, things to do, or places to go, she gave us assistance and direction.

The Westin Kierland, located next to the Kierland Commons shopping "mall" (mall sounds too pedestrian for this center of upscale shops), is convenient for day trips to Sedona (recommended), shopping in Old Town, or just enjoying the bagpiper at sunset. We would do it again.

The layout of this hotel and the surrounding amenities is first rate. It was our first time staying at the Villas, and the convenience to activities and shopping was exceptional. The grounds were extremely well kept, hotel staff were always friendly. Two staff members, in particular were outstanding and made our stay even more memorable. The hotel has an incredible bar area right by the pool and a small restaurant for easy in and out in the morning. Seeing Robin every morning for breakfast and Ryan at the poolside bar made our stay an exceptional one. We would highly recommend the Westin Kierland Villas and can't wait to get back.

Although we are Marriott Timeshare owners, we prefer and love this property - Other than the Marriott Camelback, this is our favorite resort in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area.
Weston Kierland, Scottsdale, AZ VS. Marriott Canyon Villas:
We are Marriott Timeshare owners and frequently visit AZ. We have stayed at both several times both the Westin Kierland Villas with full access to the Kierland Resort as well as the Marriott Canyon Villas with full access to the Marriott JW Resort. Overall, we prefer the Westin Kierland over the Marriott for the following reasons.
1.The Westin Villas has 2 pools (one is an adult only pool).
2.There is always someone at the Concierge desk (usualluy 2 people) starting at 8 am and usually there till 8pm or later whereas the Marriott Concierge does not open till 9 am with one person who is more interested in scheduling you a timeshare presentation than assisting with activities.
And there is always a line at the Marriott
3.The people at the Westin are well trained in customer friendly service. They all seem to enjoy every aspect of their job and are always friendly and smiling.
4.There is a outdoor pool restauirant just like the Marriott with an additional place to sit indoors for breakfast and lunch that is open till 6pm.
5.The Villa grounds have many sittting areas with open fire pits
6.Extremely accomodating regarding building request and room location
7.Has a business center with 3 mac computers and printer (no printer at Marriott w/ 2 computers)
8.One Complimentary full clean service in unit mid week with change of towels and linens and replenishment of supplies. Marriott does not provide this and towel exchange is by request only
9.Quick and informative Monday morning guest complimentary light breakfast
10.Plenty of parking but Marriott has “covered” parking
11.Larger lobby and exercise room than Marriott,
12.Nicer bathrooms
13.Nicer furniture on deck but Marriott has more comfortable living room furniture
