“Would not recommend”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

I booked this hotel because it offered a 2 room bedroom and had previously stayed at a TownPlace Suites in San Antonio. I was very disappointed with this hotel. The 2 room bedroom is very small, lights in the bathroom were very dim and hard to see, the refrigerator made a loud noise everytime it shut off, and the tv in the one bedroom is right in front of the mirror. The pool is practically in the parking lot and very small. I booked it for 3 nights but only stayed 1, moved to a Springhill Suites. It was much better.

“Different...depends what you are looking for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2010

Check in was efficient and friendly. Room 222 was 1 Queen with a sleeper sofa and small, fully equipped kitchen. The room was clean, but a little bit cramped for three. We were only there to sleep, so it wasn't a big deal. It was essentially a small studio apartment. Refrigerator was a little loud, cycling on and off all night. We did not hear any planes.

Pool was also small and located in the parking lot. Not a lot of ambience, but probably good for a quick refresh. The free breakfast was basic, but appreciated. There were various cereals, granola and Nutrigrain bars, packaged muffins, coffee, tea and juices.
If you want a deluxe breakfast, Mimi's cafe and Village Inn are walking distance.

The hotel location was good for our purposes. It is near Casino Arizona, the 101 freeway and lots of shopping and restaurants.

If your only purpose is to sleep or you need a place to stay for business or for an extended time while you are relocating, this would be a good choice. If you are looking for a resort experience with a true Aruizona feel, you may want to look elsewhere.

“Worked well for us.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2010

Reading through the comments, I'm kind of surprised. We stayed a weekend here on frequent stay points and enjoyed it quite well. Had never stayed at a TownePlace Suites before. Very nice concept – especially for longer-than-usual stay. We kind of wished we could've stayed longer than a couple of overnights here, to be honest.

Teh suite (yes, we had an actual suite) was set up apartment style with kitchen (stove, etc) for cooking, small living room and separated bedroom. No in-room movies or DVD player. Didn’t see any kind of source for music either. Lots of plug-ins if you brought your own stuff for an extended stay.

Reasonably quiet even though was right by the elevator, didn’t hear it from the bedroom. Very little outside noise either. Occupancy near capacity so parking was sometimes challenging but we were able to park everytime within sight of our building.

Property is just off the 202. Convenience store right next to the property with all kinds of shopping/restaurants very nearby. Scottsdale Blvd is only about 4 miles west, so location is very convenient. I do agree with the one poster that the pool is pretty small if very many people were to be there at once.

Incredibly gregarious and friendly staff. Very eager to provide information and be of assistance.

We didn't do the breakfast in the hotel. There is a Village Inn right around the corner, an iHop just across the street and I forget what else for breakfast.

Only real negative we encountered was the in-room internet was very slow (even on an ethernet cable).

“Stay for the convenience, keep your expectations in check”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2010

Parking was a bit limited as it was a busy weekend with all the auto auctions and the office was a bit hard to find. It was too cold for the pool, but it would be small for so many people. Lobby was like a living room with a PC but could only handle a few for breakfast--most people must grab stuff and bring it back to the room. Check-in clerk did not have the right authority to process the transaction as I was using Marriott Rewards points; supervisor was called. In my room. the living room and bedroom were on the small size to match the tiny (but well equiped) kitchen. Bathroom was reasonably sized. Essentially any more than 2 guests in the suite would feel crowded. Room next to elevator was a bit noisy, but with only 2 stories most people toik the stairs. Decor and furniture was a bit bland and dated, but functional. Overall, though the experience was good, but not as nice as a typical Courtyards I usually stay in. Location is super convenient to the highway and a variety of shopping and dining.

“Clean and quiet, good restaurants near”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2009

The check-in lobby was more like a living room without the usual large front desk, in fact, it was a little disconcerting at first. The room was clean, looked like new carpet, for one or two people but was very compact with little open floor space. The hotel was two blocks from freeway and was quiet at night. The pool was apparently heated by the hot AZ sun so was cool but not cold and very clean at the bottom and around the deck. The exercise room was narrow but with good equipment and the usual tv. The breakfast was minimal with primarily cold carbos but fortunately within walking distance is the Village Inn (hearty meals), Mimi's and Red Robin. I would stay here again.
