If Old Town Scottsdale is your destination, you can't go wrong with Homestead Suites. The price, location, staff and cleanliness can't be beat. A well equipped kitchen allows you to not have to eat out every meal. A little maintenance in the bathroom would have helped but it was very clean.

Small studio suit (with full refrigerator, stove, kitchen sink). Horrible & small TV. But for about 36$ per night in summer a great value. You'd probably would have to pay 100$ a night to see any improvement. Clean.

A block or two from old town, so great place to avoid DUI.

Booked a room for one night for a group of 4 girls. We were drinking in Old Town and wanted to have a place close enough to walk back to after the bars so no one drives home after having some drinks. The hotel is a short walk to Old Town and a Walgreens which came in handy. Hotel served its purpose but the carpets were filthy, the bathroom was extremely small, old and worn. The toilet wasn't clean-there were hairs left on the back of the seat-gross! Closet doors had been ripped out but never replaced. Everything just needs to be gutted and re-done. I would not recommend this to anyone for more than a one-night stay. It's great for a place to sleep after a night of drinking but if I was sober, I would not have wanted to fall asleep in that room. I've stayed at much cleaner budget hotels so I do not think that just because the price is low it should sacrafice cleanliness.

I am currently staying at Homestead Studio Suites, and, since I used TripAdvisor to decide whether or not I wanted to stay at this place, I think I owe some feedback. First off, the reviews that mention the friendliness of the staff are true; very polite, very efficient, and very helpful. Secondly, some people claim in their reviews that their room had been dirty. My room was very clean upon arrival, and this is not to argue with others' reviews, but, perhaps, things have changed since their stay. As for the size of the suite, it is the size of an average hotel room, but with the amenities of a suite (full-size fridge, microwave, mini kitchen, toaster, coffee-maker, etc.) I'm staying alone; the size of the room isn't too small for just one person, but, anymore, and it might be a bit of a tight squeeze. That said, the bathrooms are pretty spacious (no, there's no shampoo, but can't you bring your own?) I mean, the rate is excellent for what you get. As for the smell of the fan (I brought my own room spray because someone on here warned that it smells of urine) it kind of does, but it's not too bothersome. The fridge isn't noisy like some suggested on here, and I slept fine in the supposedly "hard" bed.

My only problem is the location, but this is just me. It's located a little further out of my usual haunt in Scottsdale. It's nowhere dangerous, but it really is kind of hidden away and it was hard to find. If you spend most of your time in Old Town and Fashion Square, the location won't be much of a problem.
