I just stayed at the Homestead Studio Suites for 1 week. I had 2 rooms. My experience was very positive from check in to check out. The girl at the front desk (I think her name was Aldorno) was great. She was very pleasant and helpful, allowing us to check in a little early during a very busy time.
I have to admit, many of the reviews on Tripadvisor scared me a little. Although many of the complaints on this board have some merit they really didn't impact me at all. The rooms were a little small. The beds weren't terribly comfortable. The tv's were old. No shampoo. Poor quality linens. Only three hangers. The pool is small, etc., etc.
But for the price I paid (some people would pay more in taxes at some other hotels), I was very satisfied. Both of our rooms were very clean. The tv's were old but worked fine. All the appliances worked in both rooms. Plenty of towels, facecloths and hand towels. The pool was a little chilly, but definitely heated and clean. I was coming off shoulder surgery and needed some extra pillows. Aldorno personally delivered me extra pillows and a blanket. The location was perfect. We walked to all the bars, restaurants, and Scottsdale Stadium for some spring training games. They scheduled our room for a mid week cleaning and they delivered, on time and did a great job.
We only had 1 person per room so the small room size was not an issue. It would be very cramped for 2 people. While certainly no where near a fancy hotel, Homestead served its place for me. A clean, comfortable, fairly priced hotel in a great location. I will surely be returning next year.

This hotel need a complete cleanng crew. Rooms were filty, hallway had vomit, food and liquid spills all over the place. We asked for a NON SMOKING room and got a smoking room with no refund and had no place to go. I will sue them for the allergies they caused by their misrepresentation. Manager was arrogant and said "you'll pay alot more for a non-smoking room:. I will. I'll never stay here again.

If Old Town Scottsdale is your destination, you can't go wrong with Homestead Suites. The price, location, staff and cleanliness can't be beat. A well equipped kitchen allows you to not have to eat out every meal. A little maintenance in the bathroom would have helped but it was very clean.

Small studio suit (with full refrigerator, stove, kitchen sink). Horrible & small TV. But for about 36$ per night in summer a great value. You'd probably would have to pay 100$ a night to see any improvement. Clean.

A block or two from old town, so great place to avoid DUI.
