“Rooms are pretty bad, came here for conference”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I came here for a conference and I would really be disappointed if I was here on vacation. The rooms are quite tired. Its like a low budget motel room. The coffee for the coffee pot in my room doesn't even work for the machine.

Front staff was nice but not so helpful, there is no sundry store.

If you are on a vacation i'd think twice about this place.

“Great location but a bit tired and in need of upkeep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Millennium sits on beautiful grounds in a great location between Old Town Scottsdale and North Scottsdale. The resort caters to wedding parties, conferences, and vacationers. The rooms are decently sized but outdated and tired. Instead of a wet bar you get a mini fridge with a bottle opener bolted to the enclosure. Instead of a modern bathroom you get a simple tub and toilet circa 1980. No frills, basic sub $100 per night hotel experience. The light fixtures were a particular annoyance with no convenient switches to be found. The room as to the lowest standard you could still consider a room "clean". Germ-a-phobes look for lodging elsewhere.

+ Location
+ Beauty of property
+ Price

- Outdated
- Limited dining options on site (but plenty of locale fare close by)
- Not exactly spic and span

Millennium shows quite a bit of promise and with renovations could be one of the top resorts in Scottsdale. For now consider it the budget option. If you want a decent room, in a great location with access to all Scottsdale has to offer Millennium offers somewhat of a bargain. If you want to relax and let all your cares melt away while enjoying the best of Scottsdale look elsewhere.

“Nice relaxing place”

Great place to wind down before your flight home. Standard rooms are just fine although the en-suites are looking a little tired.

“What a nice surprise!”

My husband had a conference at this hotel, and I was to meet him in AZ later in the week. Before he left for AZ, he expected that we'd be leaving this hotel and staying at a hotel closer to Camelback Mt., when I arrived. We talked each day prior to my joining him, and each day he had such positive comments covering various aspects of the hotel. He thought I should check it out upon arrival, and then decide.

When I arrived, the hotel looked nice but a little tired. Yes, the interior could use some updating, but beyond those two things, everything else was perfect. The rooms were roomy and comfortable, and clean (which is top on my list!) Everyone on staff was friendly, helpful, and had been trained to give excellent customer service.

The hotel got new chairs to go by the pool one of the days we were there, and the old chairs had been removed. The manager, Adam, saw to it that each guest had a chair right away to lay out on during this time of transition, he had towels brought out...in other words, he was aware that it was important to see to the guests comfort in spite of all the goings on at the hotel. He handled, orchestrated, and led his team with grace, manners, and respect. I happened to be in the lobby a couple of times and witnessed different goings on, and again, the leadership of Adam, and the team he has is what made all the difference in the stay.

The employees were always cleaning, helping, smiling, willing to do whatever was needed, and their interactions with guests was always one of sincerity.

There is a driver on hand that will take to places within a certain radius, and he was a pleasure to deal with too. There wasn't a charge for this very nice service, but he was appreciative of our tips.

The waitstaff was good. We only had breakfast at the hotel and it was good.

One other detail that spoke a lot about the hotel was the delivery and set-up of all the new chairs around the pool. The company they used to do this job was great too. One really never knew what was going on around them as far as this job being done. They only carried in two chairs at a time, they set them down QUIETLY, they treated each other with respect, and politeness. The only time we heard any conversation was when they first got there, and I happened to walk by going back to my chair.
Professionalism showed through in the company, "Paddy-O-Furniture" and the "Millennium Resort Scottsdale McCormick Ranch."

The grounds are nice, paddle boats...are available, as are bikes, and there is shopping near by.

“Need to lose the 80s decor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

This hotel needs to invest some money in renovations and upkeep. The rooms were clean but run down. The carpets were stained in our room and the closet had a hole in it. The decor was popular in the 80s. It's thity one years later so its time to update. We stayed here because we bought a Groupon deal. If I had paid full price for this stay I would have been upset. The location of the resort is nice and we had a great view of the lake so that was a positive.
