“Great access to Mayo Clinic and Shops”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

If you need an inexpensive stay 10 minutes from the Clinic, this is a good choice. They provide free breakfast with a good spread each day, eggs, waffles, and the standard bread and drink items. Someone watches, as they never ran out of food while we were there.

This was our second stay at this motel, as it is also close to a large retirement community, Westminister Village. It appeared that the room has not been updated for a while, and the AC/Heat unit was really noisy...to the point where we turned it on to heat the room, then turned it off during the night...this happened several times. The noise was bad.

We like this place overall, and our first visit was great. A lot of people stay here because of the convenience to so many things, and maybe it was our room....but I overheard another guest complain in the elevator. The sheets/coverings are inappropriate for the weather....you have a choice of a light sheet or heavy comforter, no medium-weight blanker.

So...yes we would stay here again, but next time we will not unpack until we check the heater/AC unit, and ask for a special, lighter blanket.

Room Tip: Overall a great budget hotel with free, great breakfast....just check your AC/heat unit to make sure...

“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

My daughter was on a business trip and I went along for pleasure. This hotel was more than adequate, especially for the price. The room was comfortable and the service was excellent. There is shopping within walking distance, which was nice for me while my daughter was at work. The only problem that we encountered was that the breakfast room was always busy and they were always out of something. The person in charge of breakfast was so busy that you felt uncomfortable asking for anything. This made the stay a four star instead of five.

Room Tip: The bathroom smelled yucky when we first arrived because it hadn't been used in awhile. We just...

“Decent place if you are on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

I was in need of a last minute hotel, and I was on quite a strict budget. I chose this hotel from my TripAdvisor app on my iPhone. It fell into my price range and was in the area I needed. I actually stopped in to see the room, as well as other budget rooms across town at different hotels, before deciding on this place. I ended up choosing this place as it seemed the least disgusting in the price range of $64/night. For $64/night I can say that this is a decent hotel. I am a hotel snob and admittedly OCD, but I managed for a full week at this hotel just fine. I was originally put in a handicapped room but didn't feel comfortable taking that room, so I was moved to a suite. The air intake was filthy with months of dust hanging from it, and I could see that the filter had not be changed in months. Maintenance came to change the filter, but in the entire week I was there the pile of hanging dust was never cleaned off. Also, the dust in other places was almost comical. Where the vacuum didn't reach the full edge, there was this one inch rim of dust around the entire perimeter. The carpet was stained in multiple places as were the chairs to the table. I will say that the couch and armchair looked brand new. The two TVs were both flat screens. The dressers looked old and beat up. As part of my OCD I always check for bed bugs (none found) and noticed that the mattress seemed brand new -- it was very comfortable as well. The bathtub/shower were perfectly clean -- no mold/mildew. The breakfast was a typical hotel continental breakfast. I did not use the pool or gym. Overall I think this is a decent hotel. It's in a great location, and I felt safe staying there as a single woman. I also felt safe walking at night to restaurants close by. If you are on a budget, I would say stay here. If you can afford something better, I would say stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Room #242 is right at the top of the stairs -- super easy to get in and out.

“Family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

My mother, brother and me went to vacation in Scottsdale and stayed at Country Inn & Suites. We did a lot of sightseeing and a lot of hiking and it was so hot, that's why the hotel pool were amazing to get back to. We stayed in a suite and it was amazing! There is nothing better than a big, comfortable bed when all you been doing all day is move, and never stand still. The hotel is perfect placed, in short distance to a lot of interesting sightseeings. The suite had two tv's, which came in handy with my mom and I wanted to see a romantic comedy and my brother wanted some action. Everyday we ate at the hotel, getting filled up for the day. There is nothing better than eggs and bacon and waffles when you have to be out all morning. The trip was an amazing experience and we saw a lot of exciting things, and the hotel is indeed a big deal when you go, go, go - you have to come back and be able to relax and take your minds of regular day stuff, like you do on vacations, and we are happy we found this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: Call the sales office if you stay over one week. We did and got a nice rate.

“What a wonderful place to stay....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

Mary, Rosie, Alison, Mirsda, Karla and Alma and all the drives were all wonderful I was here for 2 months and they all made my stay wonderful. Alison went out of her way to make me feel as if I were at home. Mirsda did a wonderful breakfast and was just a pleasure to see every morning. Overall I would be happy to live here if I did not have a home to go to. They are all wonderful and what a really nice hotel. Mary,Rosie and Karla went above and beyond in helping me with my stay as I was here for medical at the Mayo Clinic and back surgery at the Lazer Inst. My words just can't express how happy I was with the staff. All I can say is what a wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: I like the suites they are large and have two tv's, so I had my wii hooked up to one and watched...
