I have to tell you that my husband and I enjoyed our stay at "Down by the River" B&B. We were able to enjoy this lovely place due the kindness of the owners, the Hug’s, who donated a night stay for a silent auction that supported the St Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, AZ. We walked in and knew we needed to spend two nights instead of just the one.
Breakfast is my favorite meal and two days we were treated to the tastiest meals which included cheese soufflés, strawberry crepes to homemade waffles. There was a lot of food but very well done to where you did not feel stuffed. Rooms were very comfortable and very well done. We slept great and woke to the sun rising with the birds chipping. This B&B may be off the beaten path but if you want some down time from the everyday life style we all lead….then this is your place!!

This is truly a diamond in the rough. From the time we arrived, welcomed by a tasty home made dessert, to the day we left after a wonderful, yummy breakfast, our experience was terrific. The innkeepers, Angie & Mike, went well out of their way to insure that our stay with them was all we hoped it would be and they did not disappoint!!! We stayed in the Cowboy Room with a very comfy king size bed and an interesting collection of memorable antiquities. We will certainly recommend this to out Canadian friends. Thank you Angie & Mike for your sincere hospitality.

This was a wonderful place to get together with family. The rooms are beautiful and each has its own bathroom and patio area. There is a large patio off the main rooms for guest get togethers but if you want privacy you can use the area off your room. zona The breakfasts are delicious and are of gourmet quality. Mike and Angie are great hosts. This B&B location allows for day trips to Mexico, wine country, Tombstone and Bisbee. If you want to see southren Arizona it is definately the place to go.

What a great way to spend our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Mike and Angie went out of their way to make it a very special occasion for us. The Bird Room was large and nicely decorated and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. We brought a telescope and we spent the evening stargazing. The remote location allows for excellent viewing with the dark sky and very little light pollution. Don't have your own telescope? No problem, Mike offered the use of one of theirs and was glad to spend time talking about astronomy and the things you can see in the night sky. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the wonderful breakfast the next morning. As others have written here, you will be hard pressed to find better food, service or hospitality anywhere in Southern Arizona.
