Reception: Professional and warm, I was given excellent directions and dining locations on a local map along with confirmation of my request for extra towels and pillows. Check-In as a Hilton Gold was expedient
Room: Large room with higher than normal end Hampton fixturing and furniture. Bathroom was large with double sinks. Bed was certainly most comfortable and pillows were to my liking (soft but not too soft). Sheeting was higher end as well and the room was very clean.
Property: Excellent grounds and physical plant. Indoor pool was kid friendly with in-pool water attractions and many toys around, whirlpool was large and well maintained. Exercise room was on the smallish side with average equipment (treadmill, elliptical and recumbent bike), no weights, will need to replace in the near term.
Breakfast: To be perfectly honest, I stopped staying at Hamptons years ago simply because their breakfasts were below par compared to other chains in the same price group (Holiday Inn Express, Fairfield, etc.). Unfortunately, during my sabbatical, the breakfasts have not improved much. Eggs are still dry and crumbly, the turkey sausage was cold and off colored (I don't think there are many edible foods colored battleship gray) and the fruit was abysmal. Do yourself a favor and enjoy the wonderful property and rooms and take yourself out for breakfast.
Other: On the last night of my stay (Monday) there was advertised a "Manager's Reception" that consisted of salsa and chips and veggies and dip, along with soft drinks. Some other guests were told that it was "downsized" due to that day's low occupancy, so I guess when more guests are there, the reception is a bit more robust.
Conclusion: Property was exceptional for the price range, skip the breakfast unless you're truly desperate.
