“Very Bad Internet”

Though I have some good points about this place of stay, I was extremenly disappointed by the internet speed at this hotel which is at snails pace at any time of the day. The manager seems to blame it on the limited internet bandwidth like any marketing personnel would do. I would highly recommend any professionals carrying their laptops not to choose this place.
Otherwise, rooms are good for the price you pay. Staffs at the hotels are a mixture of snobs and pleasance.

“WE RECOMMEND IT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2009

Our experience was excellent and the accommodations were great.

The Residence Inn facility is new, neat and clean, quiet, and well kept. The service was incredible and the hotel staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Initially, finding the hotel was a challenge because it is located in such a new area that our gpx navigation system was confused, too. But, we found it pretty quick. Our room was cleaned early each morning (before 10:00) and we really have no complaints whatsoever. Parking spaces are available in front, back and on both sides of the hotel. Breakfast was served in the first floor dining area each morning from 6:00 to 9:00, but we always dined at nearby restaurants instead. There are many fast food restaurants and other stores (including Wal-Mart) located very close to the hotel which is very convenient . The pool area is shared with Courtyard by the Marriott and located between Residence Inn and Courtyard by the Marriott. The pool area is large and well maintained. The exercise room is great and the laundry facilities are adequate and very convenient. The next time we visit Phoenix, we will definitely stay at Residence Inn/Happy Valley.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2009

Stayed in this hotel for several days while visiting family in Phoenix. It was perfect for our needs. The kitchen contained a full-size refrigerator, dishwater and two-burner stove. It was well equipped with, among other items, utensils, toaster, full-size coffee maker, dish towels, dishes and bowls, glasses (not plastic) and even sharp knives. They thought of everything! The dining table and large desk were handy. The living/kitchen area was completely separated from the bedroom with doors, not with just partial walls as in some other so-called suite hotels. There were two good-sized closets and a vanity area separated from the toilet and shower room by a door. There were large TV's in the living area and bedroom. The breakfast wasbetter than most hotel buffet breakfasts that I've experienced. Particularly enjoyed being able to make my own waffles and there were several selections of hot food each day. The front desk staff and breakfast service persons were friendly and helpful. Although it was too cold to use it, the pool was large and attractive. The self service laundry was nice, although we did not need use it. The hotel and the rooms are very attractive. We would definitely return.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2009

This is a new hotel (built in 2007), but needs lots of improvements. Staff is rude an far from helpful. The breakfast is the worst at any RI I have stayed in. Wallpaper is peeling, as are the doors in the rooms. Beds were missing sheets and when we asked for more, the staff was unhelpful and gave us pillowcases instead. There were no towels at the pool. Worst of all, there was a very unusual and loud noise in the room, like a model airplane or something. It's hard to believe this is a RI.

“Nice, Clean, Convenient, New”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2008

Great mid-range hotel. All new, very clean, and the decor is welcoming and nice. This hotel shares a pool with a Courtyard by Marriott (also new), which is on the same lot and a bit less expensive.

Our room and the kitchen in it were very nice, hotel employees were helpful, and we were happily surprised to get a free, warm breakfast buffet daily with the room. The hotel is conveniently located in a huge new shopping area, which includes, e.g., a WalMart grocery store, Lowes, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, and a bunch of other restaurants, stores and theaters.

The hotel is very convenient to the highway (Interstate 17). Took us about 25 minutes without traffic to get from the airport car rental place to the hotel (get off on Exit 218). Interestingly, though, our GPS system could not find the hotel, presumably because the area is so new.

I'd stay here again. Nice, clean place, easy to get to.
