“Very nice and welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Our first stay at a Hyatt Place and it was a very nice experience. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful - each of them definitely cared about the customer. Room was clean and fairly spacious, but things were a little cramped where the bathroom door opens into the tub and toilet area. Breakfast was fine and the late night food service available at the front desk was a definite plus. We enjoyed having this facilty as home base as we attended the Fiesta Bowl and also looked around Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Glendale, etc.

“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Was everything I needed EXCEPT a Whirlpool tub but other than that GREAT!! Staff very friendly, helpful. Was nice to walk in from day of work to have the staff speak using your name. Made me feel special. Will stay at this location again next time in the area.
Only suggestion I would have is to ADD Airport transportation.

“Disappointed :(”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

The pull out sofa was filthy under the cushions. The amenities were very sub-par compared to other comparitive hotels I have stayed at. As a few examples I had to ask for lotion and the lotion that was provided was very poor quality. I might as well have rubbed water into my skin. Other items that are nice to have without asking are q-tips and cotton balls. The continental breakfast was very skimpy. Any items other than basic cereal toast and unripened fruit were not complimentary. I ordered breakfast from the kiosk and paid for it with my credit card only to be told that my selection was not available. The waffles I was offered as a substitue were disgusting and tasted like baking soda. The food service worker's attitude was non-apologetic. The bed in our room was uncomfortable. The A/C unit was very loud each time it would come on, making it difficult to get a good night's rest. Overall, I was disappointed with our stay here. I have stayed at much nicer places for the same price or less. The pool was average, but there was no hot tub, which I thought was odd. Just one more amenity that you would think would be there, but are disappointed.

“Refreshing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Returning to Santa Barbara, our flight was cancelled in Phoenix due to weather. As normal the frustration you feel when you just want to be home, led us to book a room overnight at a nearby hotel. My colleague and I arrived merely seconds before a shuttle of additional flight cancellation passengers, lucky for us. The customer service received by 'Rafael' was so refreshing! Rafael as well as the waiter who attended to us made us feel so welcome! The facility itself was very nice, clean, and maintained well. Good Customer Service is so hard to come by these days and I wanted to extend my appreciation to 'Rafael' and his colleagues for doing a great job!

"Ultimately, contentment is more a shift in attitude than a change in circumstances"

“Hotel management was awesome when Expedia Customer Service sucked!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I stayed the weekend. Had a problem arise that would have been much less difficult if Expedia Customer Service wasn't so inflexible, difficult, and flat-out dishonest. (I will not use Expedia EVER again!)

I went down from my room and spoke with the Hyatt Place weekend manager, Jen, at the front desk. She listened patiently to my situation, explained the current room availability, and asked that I have Expedia call her directly. So, I did. (No help there.)

But she did not give up on me. Through her diligence and professionalism, my situation was quickly resolved and my family was happy. Our accommodations were beautiful and the entire staff was great!

I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers to the North Phoenix area. I would also recommend that they request a room on the side that IS NOT facing the freeway. (Not much sound protection there. If there had been, I would have rated my stay there as Excellent!)

Thank you to Manager Jen for being awesome!

Kelly J

PS: Beware the addictive chocolate chunk cookies in the cafe! (Especially warmed up!) So good they should be illegal!

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side of the building are probably quieter since they do not face the freeway.
