“Very decent for the price”

The room was clean and had useful amenities like a fridge, microwave, and washing machine. It was a little ways from downtown Phoenix, so rental car was necessary. My only real complaint is with the concierge. While one of the concierges seemed knowledgeable, we kept getting stuck with the clueless one who had to google everything we asked her about (basic things like restaurant and tour recommendations). The other slighlty annoying thing is how they keep trying to sell you on a time share at the resort.

We take all feedback seriously, and regret to learn of your disappointing experience with our Concierge. This is not indicative of The Legacy's service standards!
Exceeding our owners' and guests' expectations is our continued focus, and we hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back again someday.

“Picture Perfect Resort”

This was the second time we have stayed at The Legacy but we were travelling with friends and this was their first time to Arizona and to The Legacy Golf Resort. We knew we were going to really like our stay but our friends could not get over how nice the resort was.

If you are looking to spoil yourslef this is the place to go. The only critism I can site is that the resort is in the heart of Phoenix. It would be nicer if it were on the outskirts a bit. We were lucky enough to have weather warm enough to enjoy the pool. The pool area is also top notch by the way.

I noticed one reviewed thought it was noicey. The only time I noticed any noice was when we were leaving for golf early one morning (just before 7 am) - the yard maintenance staff were already starting. Although it didn't bother us, I did think that if I were still trying to sleep I wouldn't be all that impressed. I would normally expect the yard work to start sometime after 8 am.

We golfed at Legacy and used the pool but we didn't eat there or use any of the other amenities so I can't share any comments past golf and swimming. Golf was very good by the way. There are nicer courses in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area but the Legacy is more than adequate.

Thank you for taking time to provide this comprehensive review! We were thrilled to learn your friends' first visit to Arizona was pleasurable.

All comments are carefully reviewed by The Legacy's management team, and action taken where applicable. Did you know, our golf course was named by Golf Digest as one of the "Top Ten Golf Courses to Play in Phoenix."

Our team constantly strives to exceed guests' expectations; thus, everyone's feedback -- and suggestions -- are valued, helping us identify those areas needing improvement.

We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back again in 2012!

“Beautiful Resort with Great Customer Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

I recently exchanged some RCI points for a 4-night stay at this beautiful resort. The grounds were immaculate, the personnel were friendly and helpful, and my 1-bedroom unit was spotless. It was too chilly to use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. My building was so quiet I could have heard a pin drop. The location was convenient to downtown, freeways, restaurants, and casinos. Highways to scenic areas like Sedona and the Grand Canyon were only minutes away. I look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: I requested a downstairs unit but anyone who is concerned about noise might prefer an upstairs unit.

“trip to phoenix”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

My husband and I were down for the Nascar race and made a RCI exchange for this property. We were not disappointed, the room layout and ameneties were very nice, and clean. The resort itself if very nice although rooms are a little far from the pool/spa and other services. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The stores are close and convenient and has good freeway access.

“Large but noisy resort with lots of ammenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Check-in was pleasant & quick, and we appreciated the concierge not wanting pitch a sales pitch. We noticed right away this resort having ‘We strive for 5 star’ and we ‘Go Green’ publications throughout. For starters, we were surprised to find this nice of a large resort on this side of Phoenix. We agree it being close to a lot of conveniences but did not see this much of an advantage between being located on the Northern side of Phoenix/Scottsdale. There is definitely a difference in the ‘curb appeal’ of surrounding neighborhoods! Our 1-bedroom unit turned out to be generously sized with many conveniences. Décor is definitely more dated than other 4 star resorts we stayed in. Some make-shift end tables, improvised cabinet shelves, not very functional dressers, and uncomforatble couch and chairs leave room for improvement. The curtains, especially around the patio door looked fine at first but were right out filthy on their back side. The bathroom set up was nearly an overkill in side and duplication of sink area, and the unit lacked kitchen storage as it appears a former pantry had been converted into the make shift laundry area (doors didn’t close). However, we appreciated having the laundry area!! The most unpleasant experience was that this resort has proven to be VERY noisy. We realized this was a much larger resort than some of the other 4 star resorts we previously stayed. Based on the many coming and goings, we assume this resort also caters extensively to cooperate day guests of surrounding companies. The noise created by housekeeping/maintenance staff with their partially squeaky mini-carts and ‘set on extra load’ walky talkies is no excuse however. It was virtually impossible to get in a quiet sunbath on the private deck or sleep in past 8 AM without any disturbance! Many times the noise lasted until late and started before 7 AM. As for the matter of ‘going green’. We have seen a number of positive efforts but are convenienced these may be just for marketing purposes. Again, there is room for improvements. We have seen water been wasted intensely more than once! Washing down the exterior of a building to wash away beer bottle caps and lint left behind from previous guest, could have easily been done with a broom. A broom would have done fine. Letting the water run into the grass or walkway for some time while one tries to find the right connector for the extension hose is being lazy and NOT energy efficient. We still would award this resort a 3 – 4 Star. Considering the amenities and location, we agree this resort offers a great stay for the executive cooperate traveler. We would NOT recommend this resort to friends who want to experience a relaxing resort experience.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from parking area, you may be luckier getting less noise from the housekeepin...
