“Disappointing”

My boyfriend and I routinely stay at resorts in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area when I visit Phoenix. Last weekend we stayed at the Hilton Squaw Peak. My first impression was that it seemed to be in trouble. The resort is sprawling and it seems it was quite the place in the earlier days. Although it is "nice enough" and clean, I would not choose to stay there again. The pool by the lobby was very nice but because of the economy, they closed the pool bar/restaurant. I have to wonder whether they maybe should shut down some of their many buildings and focus on some of the amenities that would attract people. The restaurant next to the huge lagoon pool was also closed. What a shame...it could have been a nice resort if there was more of a focus on these types of things. The room we had was very spacious and clean but the "balcony" ...at least they call it that...was only large enough to fit two chairs sideways facing each other. Literally about 3 feet wide with these huge concrete railings that prohibited any kind of view. Oh well...learning experience for us. We have found others in the area that are much, much nicer.

“Loved it!!”

After reading many reviews, we decided to stay here, and did not regret it!! The staff were very friendly and always making sure our stay was comfortable. People have complained that the place is dated, but really it isn't. The grounds were nicely kept and our rooms were very clean. We stayed in a 2 room casita and it was perfect. The only downside was the kitchen, as we stayed for 10 days and there was no stove to cook on, only a fridge, microwave and sink.
The amenities were great and we used the pools everyday! The hotel is close to everything, and most of our shopping/hiking were within a 10 minute drive.
We will definitely stay here again!!

Not very cölean, didn' see much evideence of the renovation. Terible staff. They actually spraypainted the poolside railings while there were kids there and seemed mad when I told them spraypaint should not be inhaled...seriously.

Anyways, the hotel is only so so, nothing luxurious about it all

“I loved this Resort, hope to return one day!”

As the title says, I loved it. The lobby is clean, airy and spacious. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Stayed in a 1 Bedroom with 2 beds, and a seperate living area. Very spacious units, everything was clean and tidy. The grounds are lovely and the hotels never feels busy even when at full capacity. The Water Park is wonderful, and only a short walk from most rooms. Lots for kids to do at the Water Park. Lovely gift shop which sells delicious ice-cream. Ate at the Hole In The Wall, not the best meal ever but certainly tasty enough and fast service. Also ate at Rico's for Breakfast, we had the Buffet which was plentiful and delciious. Our Server was very attentive and plates were cleared away regularly.

The location of this hotel is fantastic but better for those with a car. The views are amazing. I would love to return to Phoenix and would need to stay here again. Can't recommend highly enough.

“Great place for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We stayed in November and we very pleased. We were upgraded to a large 1 bedroom casita upon arrival being a Hilton Honor member. It was very comfortable for our family of four. The kids spent all day at the waterpark. Since it was November it was very quiet. It was still warm enough to use a few of the pools but the main pool was freezing cold. It didnt seem to bother us that much as we could use the other areas instead. The kitchenette in the casitas are very small so just be aware that all it is, is a fridge, microwave and sink. It was fine for the 2 days we stayed. Also there is no dishwasher so regular utensils/drinkware just a few paper plates and plastic forks, cups.

We did enjoy our stay enough that we will be returning in April.

The staff upon check-in and check out were very friendly. I had no issues with customer service while staying there.
