“Great place to stay if you need to be in downtown Phoenix.”

Had a great stay in downtown Phoenix. Room was spacious and well appointed. Food quality of this Hyatt is much better than that I experienced during a stay at a sister hotel in another city. Meeting rooms were well lit and comfortable with quiet air handling system that kept the meeting rooms at a steady comfortable temperature. Staff for the most part were friendly and helpful.

The towels and other terry in the bathrooms were thin and somewhat worn, I've experienced much better towels even in mid priced motel and hotels such as Best Western and Hampton.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to an end room with great expanse of windows, all of the room numbers ending in &qu...

“Nice location!”

I arrived a bit early because we had business meetings in the hotel, and was quite impressed with the technology used to check in. I only had to swipe my credit card, and they knew who I was, and the computer told me my room was not ready, but that I could input my phone number and they would text me when it was ready, which they did. There was a live person standing there to help, so for those of you who may be turned off by the process I don't think it will be a problem. When I was texted that my room was ready, all I had to do was go back to the computer, swipe my card, choose a couple of options on the screen, and my room keys popped right out. Probably the worst thing about my stay was when I entered my room there was a latex glove on the floor which was kind of creepy. I used toilet paper to pick it up and flush it, and basically forgot about it after that. The room was clean and comfortable, so no complaints there, but it was really a basic room for the price, although I think all of the rooms in that vicinity are pricey. The hotel provided food for the business meetings that we had, and I do have to say I was not impressed with that, but the regular hotel food in the restaurants may have been good. I also found the prices for drinks in the lounge to be excessive. A regular domestic bottle of beer cost $5. I recommend going to the establishment across the street, as the same beer was $2 during happy hour.

“Great Downtown Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The staff is very professional and competent. The rooms are well appointed and some, facing out, have stunning nighttime views. Very romantic evening possible in this setting.

“Vast improvements make it a good bet”

This place has been renovated nicely. The lobby is now quite nice and the rooms are in good shape with a fresh look. Staff was pretty helpful and check in/out was speedy. It's not up to Hyatt Regency standards in my opinion, but then it's a city hotel, not a resort. Expect a cool, chain feeling a step above your suburban Hilton, witch full service hotel prices for everything for water to breakfast. But the place looks good, has. Nice pool area, and is close to everything downtown (which for tourists is probably not much you care about). Worth a stay if the price is right.

Stay in Hyatts all the time. My three nights were three nights to many. From the check in to the check out, the room, and the places to eat were below average. There was no customer service or attention to detail. The showers lacked water pressure and didnt get hot no matter what time you took a shower. The buffet was awful, the restaraunt at the top was overpriced and the meal was not up to par. When we asked the front desk for directions to Mesa airport he told us to google it and when we asked the valet he didnt know directions. If you have two airports guests come from I would imagine having printed directions to hand out would be helpful. A very disappointing stay and if we have a meeting again in phoenix I will be staying somewhere else. Save yourself from aggravation and stay at a better hotel

Room Tip: stay elsewhere
