“Location, Location, Location (not in this instance)”

As a business professional who travels often, I would not recommend anyone to book this hotel!! ESPECIALLY SINGLE WOMEN. We had 3 rooms reserved here based on the hotel description and we are pretty loyal to Hilton brands.

The location is in an area that is not safe to venture out in the evening.

There are catwalk style / shared areas. The doors have gaps underneath so: a) bugs can come into your room, b) you can hear everyone's conversation outside of your room and c) the a/c (if there were any) goes right out the door.

The AC was turned off. (This was in early Dec in Phoenix) It was hot. Trust me.

The sliding glass door in the room was broken and the towel holder in the bathroom was coming off the hinges.

Need I say more?

The hotel staff were DELIGHTFUL. I mean that. Truly sweet kids who understood our predicament and gave us a refund on the spot. We did get a room at the Hilton!!

Room Tip: Don't stay here! This is one of the oldest (if not 'the' oldest hotel in Phoenix). It...

Thank you very much for staying with us. The area around us IS safe. We have had women working nights at this hotel for over 17 years with no challenges. We are the most mature Embassy Suites in the chain and we go through renovations every year.

I want you to know that I get very similar feedback from business travelers and leisure travelers alike as to our service. We pride ourselves on the level of service we provide to our guests.

Again, thank you very much

“Oldler but would definitely return!”

Hotel is older than the usual Embassy Suites but Tyler the manager was very nice. He moved us to a king room with a better location than our two bed room. Food and employees for breakfast were great! The resturant - not so good. It smelled like water damage and service not so good. Food good though.

“There are a lot better ES near by than this one”

If you stay in ES a lot there is a general expectation. This is probably one of the oldest ES in the nation. My room looked old and was 80 degrees with no AC because they have central heating and cooling and only one can be on at a time. It was January so te heat was on. The staff was excellent and moved me to a Hilton Suites just down the road.

“Super Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I don't know if I have ever encountered a friendlier staff. Everyone makes an effort to call you by your name, even by noticing what others are calling you. And they all smile and say thank you. I haven't always received such friendly service so I really noticed what I had been missing. The stay was not perfect. I had to call the engineer because one of the phones in the room did not work. The engineer arrived promptly (and smiled) and replugged the phone that a previous guest had unplugged. I had made a reservation for the shuttle to the airport and when I arrived a few minutes before it was to leave, it had already left because it was full. They called a car service which arrived promptly and which they paid for. The property feels a little dated. It could be spruced up a bit. I have stayed at many Embassy Suites and usually the Manager's Reception consists of wine and beer. For the Manager's Reception at this property, they will make you anything from their bar and they come to your table to see if you would like more to drink. I had lunch in their restaurant (chicken caesar salad with a beverage) for $8. It was fine. My evening meal (they served a group of about 20) was mediocre at best. It was a grilled fish that had a strong taste. I had no problem with bed bugs as a previous reviewer commented on, and would return.

Room Tip: I stayed on the first floor and was not at all bothered by any noise from the pool and didn't ha...

“Everything was perfect”

What a wonderful hotel. The service was excellent, the room was excellent and clean as a whistle. The bed was so comfy I could have slept for week in it. I never heard traffic noise or noise from other rooms. The free breakfast was wonderful and the eggs cooked to order were perfect. We will stay there again and recommend it to all our friends and family.
