“No way this a recently renovated hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The website told me the hotel had just been renovated. No way! The room smelled moldy,
the carpet was old and dirty. The tile was coming off in the bathroom. The bed mattress was
old and not comforable at all. The plumbing was terrible! You are alternatedly cold or scalded
with hot water even without changing the dial on the shower! The walls are thin and the
next door rooms noisy. The ammenities are lacking... there are none.

I even asked the front desk about the claim that the hotel had just been renovated. They said:
"Yes it has". It must have been renovated to 1970's retro with the old moldy old dumpy furniture thrown in for effect!

For the price I paid, I expect better than this. Clean and comfortable at least... which it was not.

Even had to ask for washcloths, as none were provided in the room. Just two bath towels and
one hand towel. Had to request toilet paper, too, as all that was there was one roll almost out.
Had to wait over 30 minutes to get what I requested.

The continental breakfast? Not much to choose from and most of that not replaced quickely
when it was out from previous diners.

Not ever staying at this hotel again!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the northside are quieter. There is a lightrail train that travels past the southside of th...

Since I am a travel agent, and my clients wanted a hotel in mid town of Phoenix, AZ, I booked them with this hotel for the price and location. My client later called to tell me that room was molding smelling room I have myself stayed at Days Inn, and so did my client, this hotel needs upgrading if they want to stay in business.

The hotel does not have mold! Sometimes there is a smell from cigarettes in a non-smoking room which the hotel normally uses its ozone machine to cure. If asked the hotel would have been happy to switch rooms for the guest.

The hotel has apologized to the guest. There was an unruly sales group in the hotel at the time and they will not be permitted to return. The hotel has security on site 24 hours.

“A sad decrepit hulk of disappointment”

I have pretty low standards for budget motels. I want a clean non smelly room, to feel safe in the parking lot and a minimum amount of customer service. If I have those I'm good. The Days Inn Camelback failed all those tests. My non smoking room smelled of smoke, had a broken shower curtain rod, chipped moldy sink etc.. It is in a seedy neighborhood and rough looking people who appear to live there spent the late night and early morning yelling at each other under my window. The water was turned off and staff was rude at check in and check out. Skip this one trust me.

The hotel is sad that the guest did not have a good experience. It should be noted, however, that the largest source of business to the hotel is repeat customers and that the hotel enjoys the highest level of repeat business of all economy hotels in the area.
