“Molding the bathrrom, brick hard bed, stains on floor, never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

I will not at a this hotel again, I have done alot of travel in my day and stayed at a number of different hotels and the second I got in to my room at Lexington I wanted to checkout. While i understand many hotels can['t afford remodels at this time at least take pride and take care of what you have an provide a clean area for your guests. The bathroom had mold growing on the tiles, water would go from hot to cold with out any adjustment and the stains on the carpet were gross. The bed was harder that the floor. I would not recommend this place to anyone. To bad it was my 10 yrs wedding and anniversy and this is what I will remember.if you are looking at this hotel for location there are other hotels in better condition and with friendlier staff. Marriot, Sherton are close by and around the same price.

“Avoid the "free" breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

i stayed here on a business trip. I selected it because of the location, close to downtown and light rail and value relative to other hotels in the area. The room was OK, staff was pleasant, my problem was with the breakfast.

I am a frequent business traveler used to "free" food being worth the cost. This was the worst I can remember. The bagel was stale, the boiled egg dry and there was black bits floating in the OJ. Uggh, still makes me shudder. This was on a Monday morning so I may have gotten the bits leftover from the weekend (I didn't give it a second go).

“Stay WELL clear of this hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

My colleague and I arrived on the 26th October having flown in from the UK. We asked where the restaurant was and were told "we do not have a restaurant, we had to close it down and re-furbish the whole kitchen" ...so tired and hungry we asked where we could get a quick meal and were told " I don't know, I'm not from these parts"!

Our first rooms were dirty, my sofa was clearly broken and my colleagues room smelt of mould. So we changed our rooms and were given a junior suite at no extra charge. We were assured breakfast would be a "a range of cereals and pastries + plus coffee etc" . I woke up at 3 am in the morning to hear my neighbour chatting on his phone as the walls were paper thin and the room again smelt so badly of mould that I was wheezing......so I changed again.

Later my colleague and I went down for breakfast only to discover that breakfast was 'a muffin' .....nothing else!!!!!. We asked for a drink of water and were told "we do not have water"! On asking the staff to show us the gym, one smiled and said "well that's a kind of a joke........he was right.......needless to say we checked out and moved to the Hyatt....

This hotel, we were informed on arrival had just gone through a bankruptcy and was being 're-furbished' .....my advice would be to knock it down and start afresh....DO NOT BELIEVE THE PICTURES ON ANY OF THE WEBSITES RE THIS HOTEL......THEY ARE EXTREMELY MISLEADING.

“Drab, a bit dirty, but comfortable enough”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2010

I traveled at the last minute to a large conference at the Phoenix Convention Center. This was the only hotel I could find with rooms still available. Its right on the light rail line so travel to the convention center was easy. There was a comfortable bed and free wireless in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Limited restaurants nearby, the area seemed safe enough. There was a disgusting build up of dirt and dust in the airvent on the ceiling of the bathroom. The walls are baby poop green. Walls are thin so one night heard a baby crying in the next room for hours.

“Great Downtown Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

I presented at a seminar at the Phx convention center and the hotels right at the door of the convention center were very upscale and expensive. I found the Lexington just down the street and hopped the train which was right out front of the hotel. The hotel is older but was clean and that staff was fantastic. On my arrival night i was too tired to venture out downtown so I ate in the restaurant and the chef actually came out to talk with me. I ordered chicken alfredo and it was great!! He said he was new and had just redone the restaurant and menus and it was great.
The building is a little tired and in need of some renovations, but for the price, location and service i recieved this is where I will stay when I am in downtown phoenix.
