This is an older property and it is showing its age but it has incredible views. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food at the conference was good and the facilities for the were very good.

Do call ahead and pay to have the staff empty the mini bar/snacks. The prices are VERY high and an unsupervised kid could run up a very high tab in a hurry. $4 for a small package of m&ms) Got o one of the good grocey stores just down the hill west of the resort and stock up. The Safeway there also has stuff for drinks.

There is no free wifi and limited TV channels.

Some remarks about the benefits for Diamond HHonors members, but furthermore a nice and relaxing stay.

Following the signs for ‘reception’ was rather confusing, but at least my sister and I saw some of the property before we could park near the front desk. At check-in were only young people and, although the young girl was friendly, I didn’t get automatically an upgrade for being Diamond HHonors! I find it always less when I have to ask for it, especially in a Hilton hotel.

After some arguments (no, they were not sold out as I had been told, I had checked the Internet that morning and all rooms were still available), I got not exactly an upgrade, but could choose a suite with falls view. It was quiet in the resort and we could park next to our room. The falls are behind and could not be seen from our window, but we had a view from our balcony on a large pool site.

The suite is great, it has a living room with working desk and chair, sofa and easy chairs, a bathroom with the sink outside and a bedroom of a proper size with a balcony. All furniture was good, the carpet clean and the sheets and towels were of good quality. In the room we also had a Lavazzo coffeemaker and a mini-bar, from which we took some items out to store our own things (and placed them all back when we left).

It was very quiet at the major pool area and we had a nice and relaxing afternoon. There are plenty of sun beds to choose from and enough towels were available.

In the evening we called the shuttle bus and had to wait about 10 minutes before we were picked up. We wanted to have a drink in the Pointe of View bar to see the magnificent view, but unfortunately, this location was not open for the public that evening, due to a private party. We found Pointe of View restaurant too expensive to have dinner so we had to call the shuttle again to bring us to the other restaurant Pointe in Time. The food in this restaurant was excellent and reasonable priced, we made a good choice. We walked back up a hill to our suite and my sister and I didn’t find that hard to do.

For my Diamond Status I was given two vouchers for breakfast at Pointe in Time. This is one of the very few Hiltons that don’t have a breakfast buffet. The items are very pricey, be also aware that as soon you sit on your table, a waitress comes with coffee and juice. Accepting this will mean that half of the amount on your voucher is already taken! We found this out when we got the bill and made a protest. Being a Diamond Member for some years with 40-60 stays annually, I never ever had to pay in any other Hilton and there I had much and much more to choose from than here.

Some days after our stay I found out that they had put an extra amount off my AMEX account. Since I couldn’t find an e-mail address of this hotel I wrote to the HHonors desk if they could find out why they charged me this amount. After some time I got a message that it was for items of the mini-bar. We didn’t use anything, so I wrote back, that we didn’t take anything out of the fridge, that we only rearranged the setting because we had own items in during our stay. Then I got a message that the amount would be taken of my account and so it did.

Because it was a quiet period we paid about 100 US plus tax for staying in this hotel. Although I had some remarks, I would go again without any doubts if the rates of other Hiltons in the Phoenix area are on the high side and are very competitive here again. The setting is nice, the suite spacious, we had a good night sleep and our stay was further enjoyable.

Me and My husband stayed here for a relaxing vacation fairly close to home. When I booked a room here I requested a room with a view. When we arrived the line at the front desk was extremely long! We waited patiently, got our room key and were off to our room. After finding our room (lower down the hill fairly close to the large pool and also had a smaller pool right outside our door) we were Extremely disappointed! The elevator to the second floor was disgusting, the room had very little light coming in and the only view we had was of the parking lot on one side and the smaller overcrowded pool on the other side! Also the amount of noise coming from the pool was insane, there wasn't going to be much relaxing going on here. This room had the feel of a cheap apartment not a resort, so, I went back to the front desk and asked for another room! There was no room available but I was told that if we waited about 1-2 hrs there would be one available farther up the hill so we waited. In 1-2 hrs I received a call that a room was available and returned and picked up our room key.

This room was as far up the hill as you could get, right below the different point of view restaurant. The parking for our room was at a steep angle and the feel was much better of this location. It seemed cleaner, newer and much more peaceful! No overcrowded swimming pools nearby and a great view! Our room was full of light, a peaceful hallway with interesting plants out front and a beautiful view from a large patio in the back. Our Suite had a flat screen tv, fridge, bar, desk, and comfy couch in the living room and a Comfy King bed & standard tv in the fairly large bedroom. The Bathroom was a bit weird, the vanity was located on one side of the hall, plenty of space on the granite countertop but a noisy air conditioner vent overhead... the shower/tub combo and toilet were on the other side in a pretty cramped space, when you open the door it nearly touches the toilet. It was really clean but could use some new fixtures in the shower/tub, they were really covered in hard water.

The view from 'Different Point of View' is great, you can see downtown Phoenix from here. We didn't eat at the restaurant, just took a drive up to look around. We didn't do room service either so I can't comment on that. We ate out while staying here and it was quite a drive to find something. Make sure to plan ahead if you are going to eat out as options in this area are pretty slim.

Overall we really liked our stay here and it was very relaxing, I would return to this resort as long as we got a room in the same location... the rooms lower down the hill are a big disappointment!

The whole complex isn't resort like - it feels like an Archstone apartment complex. Rooms are embassy suites like and the airconditioner blows at your head when you sleep. A lot of climbing up and down to find the scattered restaurants and facilities. Doesn't even have nice views. Ugly pools. Very forgettable experience.

I stayed at this property with my wife. This property was not busy at all on our stay! We stayed right at the end of Oct for three nights. We did not have any trouble with parking,(was able to park right at our room, which was in the main building), and every night we had the entire pool to ourselves. In many ways it almost felt like we owned the place! The rooms were very comfortable and modern and everything I`d expect from a resort of this caliber. I know others have knocked the fact you have to pay for internet and that the Alarm clocks don`t go very loud when using the radio. I`d like to have these peoples problems for just one day if this is their biggest problem in life. Get over it already! These things do not bother me. Yes the room we had did have a 32`` TV, and yes you have to the option of doing the payper view thing if you choose, And boo hoo you have to pay for the Disney channel. SHEESH GET OVER IT PEOPLE. Too many reviews I read, had people complaining about having to walk up the hill to dinner at A Different Point Of View. Well I`m here to tell the world about the shuttle that will take you right to the different point of view, just get the front desk to call them for you. But beware, have a pocket full of money and extra food back at your room, for they serve extremely SMALL portions! Not to knock it, by any means this was a fabulous dining experience. We did not eat at any other location on the property, and did not see too much of it either. We were just too busy doing other things in Pheonix. However, I could understand from other reviews, some peoples frustrations with parking, as it is very tight especially if you are in one of the units on the upper hillside. Very tight might be an understatement try EXTREMELY tight. And I shudder to think what it would be like when it is VERY busy! (I for one would not take a brand new car here when it is busy!) The staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We did not have to wait in line to check in, we walked right in and up to the desk. All in all We had a fabulous stay and would not hesitate to return again, ONLY if it was like it was this past weekend. I would not stay at a peak time of year.
