“Nice resort, but a bit dated to be considered 4 stars!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

I took a personal vacation to Phoenix to celebrate graduating from college. We stayed at this resort for 4 days. First off, I was very disappointed that this resort is called a hotel....IT IS A MOTEL! Sorry, accommodations/rooms that are accessed from outside is a motel! I PERSONALLY HATE MOTELS! I think the suites were clean but some what dated and cheaply decorated for it to be a 4 star hotel. The staff was nice, the grounds were average, and the bed was a nightmare. The mattress was either very cheap or so old and wore that it sank in the center like a crater! After the second night and an aching back, I complaint to the front desk. They offer to bring up a piece of plywood for support. I discovered the sofa had a bed inside and tried it, and it was very firm. So problem solved! The food at the 2 restaurants on grounds was decent but very pricey. The location is no good unless you have a car rental, and we did! Won't be back because I like luxury and this motel was far from luxury by my standards!

“Nice but super busy at the pool!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2012 NEW

I honestly think they don't monitor who goes in and out of the pool. We could have just showed up and said we were staying there and they wouldn't have known the difference. It was a Saturday but still it was packed! Because it was so packed the pool was filthy. No lifeguards on duty so be sure to keep a super close eye on your children. I'm not kidding when I tell you this about the lifeguard situation, a man was waiting for his kid to come down the waterslide and there is an employee who sits there with a walkie talkie telling the person at the top of the slide when another kid can come down. Well the employee told a little boy to jump in and get a ball that fell in, the little boy did and couldn't swim, the guy who was waiting for his kid to come down the slide jumped in and got this other little boy. The employee just sat there. I couldn't believe it. Nightmare. We ordered a few drinks from the pool bar, they were poured with a heavy hand, and some nachos. Ewww! Typical nachos with fake cheese sauce.

That night we dined at Pointe in Thyme, it was decent. Nothing to complain about, the service was a bit iffy but still ok. I enjoyed my braised short ribs, nicely seasoned and flavorful.

The room was nice, comfortable beds, clean. Parking not so great. Pretty grounds, overall it was decent. Because of the pool situation, I wouldn't stay here again.

The resort is huge with a small feel; eight pools to accommodate guests and their moods, including adult only. You can walk the property or grab one of the many shuttles to get around. The view is spectacular and the staff top notch

“Weekend get away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012

The hotel has amazing views! Be sure to request a suite with a view of the north when booking. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful but you will not get that same service by the adult pool. In fact that was disappointing aspect of our trip that the waiters by the adult pool were non-existent. The hotel ask you not to bring outside beverages to the pool area but the bar service was horrible. Plus they do not keep the area clean there were towels, cups, and food all over the place. The children's pool and water area were loud and crowded so I doubt the experience was better there. The rooms and amenities the hotel offered made up for that experience. The hotel is located far from downtown so a car is a must! But parking especially during the weekend was difficult. A quick fix is they will valet your car for free! I have stayed in many hotels on vacation and while the service was sub-par the resort was unique and beautiful. You will certainly enjoy your stay here. My last word of advice is take advantage of the hotel restraint Different Pointe of View the view at sunset is astonishing.

Room Tip: Rooms on north side have great views and close to lobby.

“Beautiful pools and rooms!”

The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs is a beautiful resort. The rooms are large with separate living rooms. The protperty is situated on the side of the mountain which lends itself to a lot of privacy, but strenuous walks between main pool and rooms. The bar area at The Falls pool serves tasty frozen smoothies, fries and mixed drinks with friendly service. Had problem with TV in bedroom area, but was handled quickly by staff. Comfortable beds with nice lighting for night readers.
