“Excellent Staff - Good experience..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2010

Good grief, did we stay at the same place as the person who said it was dirty? Our room, the grounds, the pool, the breakfast area, everything we saw was neat and clean. We were four adults who chose the hotel for location and to use reward points - but we were not disappointed. From check-in to check-out our experience was great - the staff was awesome (thanks Charles, Perla and Thomas) and the accommodations were perfect. Our room was clean and neat and every request (extra towels, etc) was met immediately. We stayed three nights and there were several young sports teams in the hotel every night - we never heard the kids, and when we ran into them in the breakfast room in the morning, they were extremely polite young people (even when their parents, coaches weren't there). We had a wonderful experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property to others and would stay again if we were in the area. We were so impressed that we've booked a Marriott Springhill Suite in New Orleans.

“Dirty and screwed up hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

I will spare you a long story on this. It's a slightly below-average springhill, but with horrible management, particularly in housekeeping.

One evening I returned to find a note on my door that my carpet had been cleaned and that the floor would be wet. The room was hot, damp and smell, and yes, the carpet was wet. And the beds were unmade, and there had been no maid service. It is WEIRD to clean the carpet when there is a guest in the room. I spend 150 nights a year in hotels and this has never happened.

But worst of all, I caught the maids hand washing the glasses in the room. Becoming suspicious of the maids, I marked the glasses I had soiled, and came back that night to find the same glasses "cleaned" probably with my dirty towels by the person who scrubs toilets. DISGUSTING. And ILLEGAL.

Breakfast is lousy as well. STAY AWAY. I will!

“Shouldn't be part of the Marriott system”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2009

I had requested a feather-free room with the reservation. I had to wait 20 minutes for the room to be prepared, and in the meantime the front desk was left unattended as apparently there was only 1 attendant on duty at 8:30 pm. While waiting, I noticed the extremely dirty carpeting in the halls and the overwhelming "aromatherapy" fan in the poorly-equipped fitness room, which made it impossible to use. The hotel is right next to the freeway, the windows are not doubled, and there is no way to keep the ventilating fan on constantly to serve as gray noise. The fan is only on if you are heating or cooling the room AT THAT MOMENT. The room doors close extremely loudly, so I was awakened each night by late arrivals at 1:00 a.m. Will never return.

“Nice, clean, basic hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2009

We stayed here one night while driving to San Diego. The place was clean and in the process of being completely renovated; our room already was renovated. The beds were comfortable, even the pullout. The pool was small, but we had it to ourselves and our kids really enjoyed the break from the Phoenix heat. The free breakfast was okay - waffles, bagels, cereal, juice, overcooked eggs. The kids liked it more than my husband and me. There were lots of other restaurant options nearby. Small but friendly staff.
Nice location, right off the highway, but it was confusing to get to the hotel off the highway - it is on a one way road that runs along the highway and it is easy to miss the turn.

“Just a quick overnight, but seemed like a great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2009

We arrived late into PHX so it was after midnight when we arrived and we left after breakfast so we didn't really spend much time at the hotel. But our room was perfect for a family of five and we all loved the breakfast. Wish we had time to explore more of the hotel. The staff was nice.
