“Ethan's on the road again”

Small area for dogs to wander. Not a great area for anyone to wander at night. Fast food within a couple blocks and the same with gas stations. Have stayed there many times and always get hit up for money or cigarettes at area gas stations or when walking. At $40 for the high season this Motel 6 just does not have the area or grounds to justify the cost. For picking up and dropping off at the airport it works fine. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Rooms have burns on the furniture, very wobbly chairs, and there was hair in the tub. Unless they can come down in price it is not worth it for the adverage traveler, sightseer, or family. Planes, trains, and trucks go by and overhead all night.

“If you want to stay there for just one...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010 via mobile

If you want to stay there for just one night because you want to catch a flight the next day this hotel is the right for you: it is really close to the airport (right behind the perimeter fence of the airport) and the rental car center is just one block away. The area is safe and the connection via Metro Rail to go Downtown is very convenient.

BUT: bring your earplugs!! This is the noisiest surrounding for a motel I know of so far: airplanes keep starting and landing all night there is a railway track right in front of the parking lot and there are trains passing by all night as well. You can hear and feel them in your room.

“Steer Clear Of This One”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2008

A BAD choice for a motel in Phoenix if your plans include sleep. I blundered into it by reserving on line WITHOUT READING THE REVIEWS... and trying to save a few bucks- bad mistake. The place is just north of the west end of the Sky Harbor Airport and about 100 feet from an Amtrak/ freight railroad crossing, in an industrial area.
A "one-on-one" girlie place is across the street and there is an "adult toy store" nearby. Classy neighborhood. Strange locals milling about in the parking lot.
The roar of the planes and the ringing of the railroad crossing penetrates the rooms like there are no walls and the trains themselves always blow their whistles- about a hundred times- as they approach the crossing - even in the middle of the night. The freight trains are about a hundred cars long. There are absolutely no amenities here, but the price is still pretty high- about fifty bucks- You can go to the La Quinta and live in absolute luxury for another twenty bucks- it WILL be worth it. The bedspreads are so garishly colored with the Motel 6 logo that the decor alone will keep you awake. Little tiny towels in a little tiny bathroom. No chairs to sit in to watch TV.
The staff is nice, though and they have free (!) coffee in the office in the morning. And- they have an all-night security to guard to keep the derelicts from stealing the stuff out of your car. There IS a pool. Do not go here. Repeat- DO NOT GO HERE.
