“Christmas Holidays 2011 @ InnPlace Hotel, Phoenix North”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We booked here through a group arrangement. The price is reasonable for $79 with full breakfast included. The breakfast is worth it for the price...it's comparable with I-Hop quality but because it's a buffet it is much more valuable. The location is very central surrounded by a ring of restaurants and fast foods chain. There is a Metro Center from a stone throw distance from the hotel that has movies theaters, Sears and shopping mall. The Hibachi Grill and sushi buffet next door is really a place you should try after a long hard work out day.The hotel hosted around 128 teens who are competing for the first spot in tennis in the USA four times a year and Phoenix is hosting one event of it. The parents and siblings mostly are there to help coaching and or to relax while one of their kids trying to win. I tried to combine both while managing my son's hectic schedule. The hotel is clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. The gym has barbell, dumbbell, treadmill and a step. The pool and Jacuzzi is nicely kept and a place to relax. Definitely recommend for group stay

“Comfortable room, excellent location.”

This hotel was overall quiet and comfortable. Large pool, hot jacuzzi, and caring staff. I have more to say about its location, but in a good way. There are dozens of restaurants just a stone's throw away, an amusement park and a large mall within three blocks. I took my family on this business trip and they are just happy to have tagged along. I highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: Make sure you park close to your room and avoid walking across the vast hallways.

“We would go back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

The room space is great for a family, 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa in a separate living area. The linens and technology were great. There were a lot of families so my kids found others to play with. The property is large and it can be a long walk from one location to another so bring a stroller if you have small kids. The hotel is a good value but the meals and poolside snacks can add up. There are lots of good reasonable places to eat within walking distance. The staff were all extremely helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the hills

“So Disappointed with EVERYTHING!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

We booked this hotel because we needed to be in this area and with the mixed reviews thought we would give it a chance. I am sitting in the room now trying to figure out how I can get a decent hotel for our last night.....

The room is small and older it does seem clean, but shower/tub is small there isn't enough pillows for our family, they have huge pillows on the beds, that obviously do not have cases and I just wonder who touched them last....also the pillows we do use are so old they shrivel up as soon you try to lie your head down. Our toilet was backed up when we arrived, we had to call for a plunger!! The room is so run down the nice front lobby can't conceal the 1 star quality rooms.

We awoke to a voice in the hallway system saying to evacuate, that it was a real emergency, evacute. We hurried out- saw NO employees or staff....some other guests said we can go back in, feeling unsure we did but called the front desk they said, oh yeah the elevator caught fire/broke so it triggered the alarm. YET noone called us- talked to us or let us know what was happening. When we rode the elevator yesterday our family got scared like something was wrong it creaked and crunched and thank god we were not on it when it did break!!! 10 mmins after returning to our room 6 fire trucks and an ambulance arrived, then left.

I just want out of here. Depending on the trip we stay at Holiday Inn up to Resorts, and this is just not up to any standards we have. I paid $55 a night and I feel like I just threw my money away.

“Room was decent for the Priceline bid price...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We stayed here from April 26th to May 2nd. I was worried, given my $39/night price that was accepted on Priceline and the hit or miss reviews on TripAdvisor. All went well though. The property is a bit worn; however, the room on the Starwood level was spacious and clean. Be prepared for things like: Broken outdoor pool heater, empty keg selections in the bar/broken blender to make drinks, well worn rugs, door handle missing on closet, etc. On the plus side, the tile and fixtures in the bathroom seemed to be new and the room had a fridge, micro, and coffee maker. The bed was adequate, yet could have been better (mattress sagged in the middle) -- sheets were clean and changed daily. The food in the hotel restaurant was ok and reasonably priced. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The business center is good and there is free WiFi in the hotel. We noticed a regular police presence (one or more cruisers parked in front of the hotel), yet were not sure if this was due to trouble or a routine visit. The mall next door has a high vacancy rate and is currently bank owned. There is plenty of chain food and two nice ice cream shops near the hotel (within walking distance). Hotel affords easy access to the 17 and 101 loop. Consider this just slightly below the quality of a Hampton or Marriott Courtyard due to its age. Hotel is under new management and the owners may or may not re-join Starwood after June -- I think it depends on how fast they can rehab the property. Despite usually staying in 4/5 star hotels, we were pleasantly satisfied for the price. Had we paid the $69 rack rate for the room, we would not have been as satisfied.

Room Tip: Bid on Priceline and bid low to start...
