“Very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this facility for 3 days February 6-9, 2012. I found the registration process very pleasant, helpful and cheerful. The room was about what I have come to expect from the Hilton chain which is clean, comfortable and in this case quiet. The suite was well laid out and very spacious which is comforting while traveling away from home. The evening reception was nice, however my only negative criticism if there is one is the breakfast time during the week begins at 6:30 am, which did not coordinate with my work schedule. All in all I would highly recommend the facility and will look to return on my next visit to the Phoenix area

Clean and well located. The food is not good, and there is no one at the front desk ever.

“Great area, not so great pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I stayed at the hotel for 10 days for business in November. Luckily, the weather was chilly in Phoenix for that time of year, so I had no use for the pool. Had the weather been warm as usual in Phoenix, the pool would have been less than adequate. It was small and located in a shady courtyard. Other than that, I had a great experience and really enjoyed this property and its' location. The gym is also inadequate but they offer a $2 pass to the L.A Fitness accross the street. Hotel is very close to shopping and even walking distance to a couple bars and restaurants. Also very close to Camelback Mountain. The rooms are very nice, large and clean. They are set up like a small apartment with a totally separate bedroom and almost full sized kitchen. The free dinner and breakfast is a plus for long stays and is relatively good as free food goes. I would definately stay in a Homewood Suites again

“The hotel needs to be more concerned about security.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

While there were a lot of great aspects about this hotel, I did not feel very safe there at all and checked out early. Twice I saw people come off the street, walk in the main doors and help themselves to the free food that was out for breakfast/ dinner. They then went back outside and kept walking - obviously not guests. The hotel needs to pay more attention to guest safety.

Room Tip: I'd recommend a higher floor for safety.

“Great Location & Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We recently stayed at this hotel 2x in the past 2 months, babysitting our baby grandson. The first time we stayed (9 days), we were on the 2nd floor, in a very quiet room close to the elevator. It provided the peace & quiet we needed as well as being away from other guest rooms (I'm sure they didn't want to hear our grandson crying at 4:30 am!). The hotel provided a suitable crib for us both times.

Each unit has a small kitchen with a decent size refrigerator, which we needed for the baby's milk and other supplies we purchased at the nearby Trader Joes and Frys Superstore. The kitchen has the basic amenities (microwave, coffee maker, 2 burner stove, dishes, and a few pots and pans. There is also a laundry room on the first floor, which we used a few times. The washer and dryer cost was quite reasonable. The maid service was good and we didn't lack for emptied wastebaskets or clean towels.

The curtains in the bedroom and living room are sun blocking, so it keeps the room darker for an extra few winks in the morning, which we appreciated after getting up so early to feed the baby.

We liked this place so much we came back the following month and stayed there over Thanksgiving. It was a different room, but very similar to the other one. Staff and service personnel were friendly and courteous.

An extra bonus is a very decent complimentary breakfast served daily and an evening appetizer served Monday-Friday in the downstairs dining near the front desk. I should also mention they have 24 hours coffee, hot chocolate and tea downstairs in the lobby, as well as cool drinking water,

While this place has a small indoor gym and outside swimming pool, we didn't have time to use them, but it is something to look forward to in the future.

It felt like a "home away from home" and we would definitely return to this location when we travel back to Phoenix.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side are quieter.
