“Great home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

My new favorite hotel chain. I love the staff at both Aloft hotels I have stayed at. Much more relaxed atmosphere than normal full service hotels. Keep in mind this a very friendly, low service hotel (not valet, not bellman, no one to tip!)
They don't have a restaurant but have 24 hour food in the snake area, great sandwiches and salads. In the morning you can purchase hot ham/bacon/sausage/egg croissants
I love this place!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel (away from Washington Street). There is a trolly/train t...

Thanks for the great comments, Steve! Our breakfast sandwiches can be addicting - be careful! The electric Metro Light Rail does make some noise as it leaves the station across the street, but many of our guests don't even notice. Many more are appreciative that they can hop on board and quickly and conveniently head into downtown Phoenix for a Suns basketball game or to catch the Diamondbacks at Chase Field or perhaps attend an event at the Phoenix Convention Center. Go the other direction and explore the shopping, restaurants and night life on Tempe's Mill Avenue or wander the campus of Arizona State University. While people's opinions vary on the amount of noise the light rail generates, there's no arguing that the train is a convenient and affordable system to explore the local area. Looking forward to seeing you and the family again soon!

“its ok. no prizes.”

just a one nite stay, its ok, room product is hip and modern, but sort of annoyingly so. there is nothing to eat in this area, except a Ruby Tuesday across the street which was filthy.
staff at desk are fine, hi, checking in, heres your key. The little fridge at the desk has sandwiches in it, which work in a pinch. bottom line, you will survive a night.

Room Tip: they all seem pretty quiet. no windows open just the delightful AC unit churning dust and cold air.

Thanks for mentioning our grab-and-go re:Fuel pantry. It's not really a full meal, but it's nice to have the convenience of fresh sandwiches and salads available 24-hours a day. Sorry to hear your experience next door was less-than-ideal. There are lots of restaurants within a short drive from the hotel, but only a couple within easy walking distance. Of course, our complimentary shuttle will gladly give you a lift to a nearby eatery, and the front desk can provide a wealth of suggestions. Thank you for your comments!

“Stuck in Phoenix for a night due to a missed connection”

Fit the bill - close to the airport, and part of Starwood. Room was nice - definitely geared towards the young male crowd (think car magazines in the room).

Staff was very nice and very helpful. Shuttle to the airport was right on time.

Room Tip: You will hear the planes. I don't care what room you are in, this hotel is right on top of the...

I guess there are worse places in the world to be stuck overnight that Phoenix in January! I'm glad we were able to make the inconvenience a little less painful. Our super-close proximity and 24-hour complimentary shuttle make the Aloft Phoenix Airport a great go-to when travelling through Sky Harbor Airport. Thanks for the comments!

“Very affordable and convenient”

This hotel is excellent for runners of the Rock and Roll marathon. It is directly across the street from a light rail stop, so one can take the light rail to the expo and to the race. The down side is that it is on a highway and across the street from the light rail stop, and the light rail starts running before 6 a.m. on weekends. I was awake at that time anyway, so it didn't bother me, but I could see that it may bother others. The best part is the value. The marathon rate was only $99 per night. The rooms are small, but the bed was comfortable. There is a bar that has happy hour and a small pool. I will definitely stay there next year.

I'm very pleased to hear your kind comments related to your recent stay with us! It was a BLAST to host many of the participants of the PF Chang Rock N Roll Marathon - and it's great to know that you can get to the event site by just hopping on the light rail - how easy can you get?! We certainly look forward to seeing you again next year.

“New experience turned out great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

As long time Platinum members of Starwood we stay at many different properties. Our first stay at an Aloft property was a very pleasant surprise. Nice lobby, comfortable rooms and a great location. Close to Sky Harbor airport, restaurants, Phoenix Zoo and the main highways running thru the Phoenix area. We were really empressed with Julia, the gal that helped us with check-in and information about the hotel. We will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: As for a room on the north side for great views of the mountains around Phoenix.

Thank you for the great review of your recent stay with us! You're probably aware that the Starwood Preferred Guest program has NO blackout dates for Reward Nights - how cool is that? Thanks for the kudos to Josh in w xyz as well - I'll be sure to pass this along...but did you have to let out the secret about our GREAT views of Camelback Mountain? I've been working on relocating my office to the top floor...now that will probably never happen :). Thanks again!
