My husband's convention prompted a stay at this lovely hotel, just a block away from the Convention Center, three short blocks from the clean cheap Metro Light Rail/Bus Station. Stayed on 22nd floor, very nice quiet room with a deeply comfortable bed. Outdoor lap pool was comfortable, the view is wonderful - and the bartender was polite and welcoming (did wish there'd been a shower close by before entering pool, tho). Concierge staff helpful in offering directions and suggestions for visiting nearby attractions, and the Phoenix Ambassador program (look for the orange shirts downtown!) quick with coupons and good advice. Opted for the Green Choice program and added the points to our Starwood account later; housekeeping staff very patient with exchanging towels from their carts - always ready with a smile. Used the internet in the LINK cafe, and staff there helpful with troubleshooting and cafe (banana bread is delicious). Downtown Phoenix is weirdly, eerily quiet with little street-level retail or even humans (except for conventioneers walking from center to hotel) - unlike, say, Boston - not a CVS or fast food place in sight. All in all, loved this hotel, every staff member helpful and cheery, am looking forward to staying there again next year.
