“lovely hotel, great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband's convention prompted a stay at this lovely hotel, just a block away from the Convention Center, three short blocks from the clean cheap Metro Light Rail/Bus Station. Stayed on 22nd floor, very nice quiet room with a deeply comfortable bed. Outdoor lap pool was comfortable, the view is wonderful - and the bartender was polite and welcoming (did wish there'd been a shower close by before entering pool, tho). Concierge staff helpful in offering directions and suggestions for visiting nearby attractions, and the Phoenix Ambassador program (look for the orange shirts downtown!) quick with coupons and good advice. Opted for the Green Choice program and added the points to our Starwood account later; housekeeping staff very patient with exchanging towels from their carts - always ready with a smile. Used the internet in the LINK cafe, and staff there helpful with troubleshooting and cafe (banana bread is delicious). Downtown Phoenix is weirdly, eerily quiet with little street-level retail or even humans (except for conventioneers walking from center to hotel) - unlike, say, Boston - not a CVS or fast food place in sight. All in all, loved this hotel, every staff member helpful and cheery, am looking forward to staying there again next year.

Room Tip: upper floors for a good view; elevators are very speedy.

Titled “lovely hotel, great staff”

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us; downtown Phoenix is definitely not Boston!, but we are proud of our clean and safe downtown area and you cannot beat our location for getting around to museums, sporting events and the like. Sounds like you did a little exploring, good for you!

I’m also glad to hear that our staff took good care of you and provided service that exceeded your expectations. We promise to do the same upon your next visit as well.

Thank you for participating in our Make A Green Choice program, as we work to keep sustainability in the forefront of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint.

Until your next visit…

Warm Regards,

“What excellent attention from the staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I was visiting as an exhibitor for a small convention. I needed a tomato box as a prop in my display. I asked Sarah at the front desk if she knew where I might 'dumpster dive' and she said that she would be right back. Less than two minutes later she appeared with a tomato box. It was like magic! What a gal. Just before the exhibition was to open we decided that a fan would be a great addition to simulate the air movement inside of a walk-in cooler. I called the local drugstore chains, hired a pedicab to scout out a fan. Finally I asked Kristen at the concierge desk and she made some calls around the hotel. I went to change my clothes for the show and again within minutes there was exactly what I needed. I have never been in a situation where the hotel staff was so very accommodating. Congratulations!

“Brand new hotel, great rooms”

I stayed in a suite at this hotel, and the room was incredibly large and clean. The location is great close to many restaurants and the convention center. The staff was incredibly helpful and offered grea advice for fun things to do nearby. You can tell Sheraton spent a fair amount of money building this hotel and it shows. Room service was prompt and delicious. The pool was pretty small, as the hotel was quite full. All in all a great property to stay at.

Thank you for taking the time to recommend us! We never take a great recommendation for granted, and I’m pleased that you had such a nice stay.

I must say that I do love our location too – in the center of downtown and very close to just about everything!

You ought to try to come back out during Spring training and watch the Brewers play, it’s a great time of year here…

We hope you can return soon, in any case and we look forward to it.

“Magnificently exceeded all expectations.”

When is a hotel particularly memorable? We don't need a hotel to enjoy breathtaking scenery, or relax in a heated lap pool. Or even savor a better-than-French meal that includes succulent shrimp from the local Arizona desert shrimp farm or herbs picked fresh for my meal from the herb garden on the fourth floor. What will make this hotel memorable is that I was treated as a treasured, irreplaceable person. There are not 1000 rooms in this hotel, as their website purports; there is only one, and it is the room I occupied. A special mention goes to their restaurant manager, Cliff: The discrete attentiveness reflective of his Continental origins made me feel like Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast..."

Room Tip: I was on the 15th floor -- a dream! I still don't know why I didn't mind being across from t...

Your review was music to my ears, and I thank you for such kind and positive comments.

I have always been proud of the staff here, and reviews like yours remind me why – they truly understand guest service – they get it – and it shows. Cliff Rose is of course a standout here and he will be pleased that your stay was enhanced in part because of the service standard he provided.

We appreciate that you chose us for your business stay and we hope you will do so again in the near future. We would appreciate another opportunity to be of service.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Check in was quick and efficient, and all staff was very welcoming! I had forgotten my phone charger and although the hotel didn't have an extra one on hand to lend me, they let me charge my phone behind the conceirge desk. The room was also very clean and quiet.

We enjoyed our time by the outdoor pool located on the 4th floor. The food was a bit over-priced but expected.
