“Clean and comfortable room.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

This is another place that I think other reviewers and I went to two different places. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros - Room was very clean and comfortable. It is an extended stay, so you get the couch, kitchen, and such. Bathroom was clean and had plenty of towels to choose from. Very quiet all night and when you travel in the immediate area, you have some good choices for a meal. Front desk people were generally friendly.

Cons - Wifi didn't exist or you had to pay, never quite figured it out. Hallway had a funny smell. Location is a bit off I-10, but it wasn't too far and minimal traffic made it easy to get to it and back to I-10.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Extended Stay Deluxe Phoenix - Biltmore. We are committed to providing every guest with outstanding accommodations, so I was pleased to read your remarks about your room. Of course, I was disheartened to read that your stay wasn't 100% satisfactory. For that I am truly sorry.

Given how many business travelers depend on us for fast, reliable internet access, we think that our investment into our internet networks is a wise one. What's more, although some of our competitors may advertise ""free WiFi"", the service is really not free at all. In fact, they bundle the cost into your rate, so you wind up paying more for your room whether you get online or not. Our approach is different. Our guests only pay for wireless internet access if they choose to use it, and then only for a one-time fee of just $5.99 per stay, no matter how long you stay. It doesn't matter how long you stay. That means that our fees are among the lowest in the industry. Please understand that each guest is important to us, and we will continue to use feedback like yours to shape our policies.

Although it is unusual for a guest to have the experience you did while staying with us, we would like to use your account to help us make our hotel even better. Again, I am deeply sorry that you did not have a completely enjoyable stay at our hotel, and I promise that we are focused on total guest satisfaction every day. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at this hotel or to our guest relations team directly by visiting our website and clicking the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page. I do hope that you will let me demonstrate our redoubled efforts in the future here or at any of Extended Stay Hotels(sm)' other locations throughout the U.S. and in Canada.

“Noisy, Crowded, Smokey, Terrible service....really you've been warned.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

CONS:

1) Barking dogs

They allow barking dogs here without apology.

You hear these loud, barking dogs all day and night and the managers here shrug their shoulders - could care less about you. Who do they hire? Why?

2) Slamming doors

It's unbelievable, but all day and night you hear doors slamming. Why didn't they construct this better?

My advice: Stay at a Hilton Garden Inn or a Marriott Courtyard or a Comfort Inn.

“You Get What You Pay For”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

I booked this hotel through Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" program. This got me a nightly rate of $30, which I thought was terrific.

The facility itself is just average--nothing in particular to comment on. If you're a non-smoker, don't bother booking on Priceline or Hotwire, as the desk clerk admitted to me that all such customers automatically receive a room on the 3rd floor, which rooms are all smoking rooms. When I made my Priceline reservation, I immediately called the hotel and spoke with the desk clerk on duty. I requested a non-smoking room, and she told me that would be fine. When I arrived for my stay, I reiterated my request for a non-smoking room, and I was assigned a room on the third floor. As soon as I opened the door to my room, it was apparent this was a smoking room, due to both the smell and to the ash tray which was set out on the table. When I completed my trip and returned back home, I had to immediately wash every article of clothing I had taken with me, as the tobacco smell was now extremely apparent.

Unfortunately I accidentally left my iphone charger and razor charger inside my room when I checked out. I didn't realize this until I returned home the next day. I contacted the hotel's front desk, and they informed me they had found only the razor charger, but that there was no sign of the iphone charger. Apparently the housekeeping staff thought it was something worth stealing.

Would I stay here again? Not on your life.

It was very kind of you to for take the time to publish such a positive review of your stay at the Extended Stay Deluxe Phoenix - Biltmore. It's always satisfying to read positive feedback from our valued guests, like you. Although some companies run extravagant advertising campaigns for their hotels, we believe that the best kind of marketing is the public praise we get from our millions of happy customers. That's why the biggest investment we make is in our customers. Our company motto is ""Excellence Every Day, Every Way"", and my promise to you is that we will continue to operate according to this practice; after all, that's how Extended Stay Hotels(sm) got to be the largest extended stay lodging brand in North America.

“Deplorable housekeeping, you get what you pay for!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2010

Upon check in to our single queen NS room, we were told there would be no housekeeping during our 4-night pre-paid stay, but we could have more towels if need be. When we entered our room the conditions were substandard: the bathroom floor and tub had hair on them, there was a towel on the back of the door, the trash cans weren't emptied and food was left in the refrigerator and drawers. We called the front desk and was told that housekeeping cleaned the room and that management checked it and signed off on it. After much discusion, the front desk clerk agreed to come empty the trash and said we'd have to wait for housekeeping the next day. After two days, housekeeping never arrived and we fought to get out of our stay because of the conditions and lack of cooperation. Also, if you run out of toilet paper, you have to walk to the front desk to get more... they won't bring it to you. I've stayed at other Extended Stays as have my friends, but this was horrible.

I recently received a copy of your review of the Extended Stay Deluxe Phoenix - Biltmore. Our company prides itself on providing great service and great rooms at great rates, which is why I was so disappointed to read your post. Please accept my most sincere apologies.

We know that our guests have multiple hotel choices, which is why our mission is to provide clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price that guests want to come back to. The room condition you describe is totally unacceptable to me and not at all representative of our quality standards. In response to your post, I have met with our hotel staff and used your review to help coach them on room cleaning and inspection policy.

It's not common that we get the sort of feedback you provided, and although it is discouraging to read, it will help us make our hotel even better in the future. Let me apologize again that your stay was not completely satisfying, and assure you that we will continue to listen to our guests in forums like this one or directly (please visit our website and click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page). I hope we have addressed your concern satisfactorily, and that you would give us the pleasure of having you as a guest again at this hotel or any other Extended Stay Hotels(sm) brand location in the future.
