This hotel was chosen for us - our team hotel for a soccer tournament and I was dreading what we were going to find after reading alot of the reviews here. Arriving just before 10pm, we were greeted by a very pleasant receptionist, after driving from the lobby to the guest parking, a "porter" took us (& our luggage) by golf cart to the room. Most of the rooms are a good distance from the parking lot & an even greater distance from the lobby/restaurant, not ideal for less mobile people. Opening the door to our suite, I was pleasantly surprised. It does need some updating, but the furniture in our room was not damaged or too old, the carpet was clean with no stains and the sofa bed and armchair looked fairly new. The beds (2 doubles, not queens) and feather pillows were quite soft, and wouldn't suit everyone, but the linens were good, with no stains or tears (as I've seen in some hotels). The bathroom could do with an overhaul, it was quite small but everything worked fine, with plenty of hot water and a good shower head, the sink/vanity area is in the bedroom, not the bathroom. The fact that we couldn't use a personal hot tub or even access the rear courtyard was not a big deal. The living room didn't have a kitchen but a wet bar which was dated. The fridge although not new, was larger than most and worked extremely well. If they put a microwave in the area it would really be helpful. We liked the front patio with the table and chairs, it was good for a lunch between soccer games, the grounds were very well kept and the whole area seemed peaceful, not like a hotel in the center of the city. Pool area was great. I went into the fitness room which was very small and I would be a bit worried about using alone. The staff in the hotel restaurant even at 6.30am were extremely pleasant and helpful. The toast was made as we needed it, the orange juice was fresh, not canned and the coffee extremely good. I can see if you are expecting a true resort this hotel would be abit of a let down, but as said on previous reviews, with a bit of investment, it could be a stunning hotel. Staying with a team we got a group rate, but if I had to pay the going rates I would want a little bit more from the hotel. However, the room we got was clean, spacious and comfortable. I wouldn't hestitate to stay there again. Couldn't give it an excellent rating, but it was certainly more than average.
