I often look at reviews and think that people would complain about the smallest thing. this is the first time i have been compelled to write a negative review. i would not reccomend this hotel to anyone. €95 approx for a room with "breakfast" included. the room was dingy and the bathroom door wouldnt close. the curtain that is suppose to be on the inside beside the window was actually outside the main curtain/drapes. the carpet was filthy and the door handle kept comming off in my hand. the heating came on one night and we had no way of controlling it. we had to open the window and bear it.
the stairs and carpets were dirty and stained.
breakfast comprised of diluted tang instead of orange juice and pastries.
i've stayed in worse places but this was the worst for the price. with €95 a night you would expect much much better. they know they can have inflated prices due to the lack of beds in the town. only stayed here because we could find nothing else
avoid like a plauge.

“Cheap and with a great location.”
Hotel Monaco is a nice hotel where you don`t need to spend too much money.
The rooms are simples but confortables, the bathroom is clean.
The staff are not very gentile (but in this city nobody is). We had a window in the room, and we could watch the sea all the mornings.
In fact. Ushuaia is a very beautiful city, everything interesting is in "san martin" Avenue and we were in this street.
The only problem is that the computers (free internet) were really really old!!!! (No msn) and when i was making love with my boyfriend the housekeeper entered to the room to clean (she did not knock the door)
I would return to this hotel, because is very cheap specially for people who loves to save money.

We stayed in the Monaco a couple of years ago and again this year, as a base before and after trekking on the Valdevieso and Dientes. As a trekking hotel it's fine. Very basic hotel, but clean and (very) warm, with an adequate breakfast and internet that seemed to work this time. It's on the main drag in Ushuaia so very convenient for parillas and trekking shops
