I booked this hotel online as it was billed as a 4 star hotel directly in Glacier Martiel. I stayed 3 nights and had a fair experience overall.
Pros:
-Gorgeous mountain location with lovely views from all sides. The hotel is one of the highest up on Glacier Martial. We stayed in one of the back rooms that had direct views of the mountain peak. It was idyliic- we saw wild horses running through the mountain wilderness and the snowcapped mountain peak. The vista from the front side of the hotel is expansive and stunning.
-Excellent cleaning staff
Cons:
-Largely unhelpful front desk I was there during the holidays when many sights were closed. The desk was unaware of changes in the schedules for major sights and were unwilling to offer help in finding out. There was little assistance in booking excursions (though dont worry about this-- you can easily book these yourself once you get there) and generally little knowledge of the area. On the whole, the front desk added little to the experience, and were not on a par expected for a 4 star level hotel. FYI, staff members speak minimal English, if this is an issue for you.
-The location, while beautiful, is accessible only by taxi or shuttle. The hotel shuttle runs only 4 times per day so you have to factor in multiple taxi rides to the city per day, since there are really no restaurants or other activities on the mountain itself. Fares are pretty affordable (approx 10-12 pesos one way), but it can be hard to find a taxi on the street at night.
