The Hotel is at the top of a mountain overlooking the city of Ushuaia. Rooms are big enough, and well heated. Beds are good, and so are the toilets. Wi-fi access is available for no charge.
And the good parts stop there.
There are many cons.
1. Location is poor; you are away from the city and must take a taxi to come and go. Shuttle buses are very infrequent and unreliable.
2. TV; Only a few channels available in a country with one of the highest cable TV penetration rates in the world. Not a single English speaking channel.
3. Breakfast: Extremely poor by a 2 star standard. No fruit, no toasted bread available, no fresh bread, undrinkable watery juices, really substandard.
4. Check out: They fixed it, arbitrarily and against all international standards, at 10 (TEN) AM. One more minute and you are compelled to pay 50% extra. That is unacceptable and probably confiscatory. What if you had a late night (not my case) and want to have a sleep over until 11 a.m. Not uncommon in a vacation.
5. Restaurant food; Avoid; expensive and uneatable. Move on.
At USD$189 per night the hotel is outrageously expensive for what it offers. Avoid, or beware.
