We stayed here as part of our Antarctica tour with Quark Expeditions. We stayed one night before we departed for Antarctica and one night upon our return. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were good size and clean. Breakfast provided by the hotel was adequate. They had 3 computers to use with free wifi. There was also free in-room wifi. I don't know what the cost per night was as it was part of the tour package. It is a short walk to the downtown area of St Maartin Street where all the shops and restaurants are and it is a bit of a climb uphill when you return. Overall, we had 2 very nice stays there.

A bit pricy. The restaurant was never open when I wanted to eat.

The room was very clean, and newer.

TV was quite small. No clock.

Nice shower (but nothing fancy).

Service was acceptable, but not great.

Its a bit of a walk (10 minutes) from downtown.

Great views both from the room and from the common areas.

Internet worked well and got good wifi reception all over the hotel, they have multiple access points.

I also stayed at albatros (owned by same people) and would recommend this hotel over the other one as its much newer and the internet worked.

Rooms are a bit small, and the walls are very thin, due to early checkout (10am), in the morning if your trying to sleep in, you can hear everyone opening and closing theirs doors, which woke me up quite early (7-8am) every day.

The heater in my room was stuck in the on position (radiator heat, the valve to shut it off didn't work), but I don't think that's normal.

We stayed at this hotel because it was the nominated start point for our Gap Adventures Antarctic tour. On the positive side this is a modern-style attractive hotel with pleasant open public areas and great views of the bay especially from the dining area. Breakfast was very good and we had none of the issues with noise that previous reviewers experienced. At the time of our visit it was listed on the internet as costing US$90 per night which is pretty good value in Ushuaia. However, the whole place is overheated and the rooms are a great let down. Our allocated room was a very cramped twin - we wanted a double - one of the bed side lights didn{t work, and the room smelt very musty even after having the singe window open for a long time. The wardrobe was so narrow even the coat hangers were touched when the wardobe door was closed. The bathroom was barely functional - very small, no towel rails, and nowhere to put the soap. Reception staff were briskly efficient rather than friendly as reported by other reviewers. For us It is also not the best location, being a good 10-15 minutes walk from the main part of town and the restaurants.

This is a nice location, there's a fantastic view from the dining area, and the shopping and restaurant area isn't a long walk. The breakfast was pretty nice, although nothing really special. The rooms were a bit tight, in particular the bathroom seemed to be poorly laid out and was inconvenient. But not too bad. We had great wi-fi service, which was a big plus. And the staff was very friendly and very helpful. I gathered that the prices were somewhat high for the city, that a lot less expensive places were to be had, but I'm not certain that they would have been as nice. There was a nightclub or bar or something rather close, and at night we had a bit of a problem with the noise from it. Fortunately neither of us were light sleepers.
