While we were staying at Galeazzi-Basily we found out that our trip to Antarctica had been cancelled. Frances was extremely helpful, contacting the local agent for us and calling and skyping our agent in Canada. We were able to book an alternate trip. Frances and Alejandro fit us in for the extra nights in Ushuaia while we waited for the trip to depart, even though their own family was arriving for the holidays. Every time we came in from a walk, we were welcomed with the words,"Have a cup of tea". When a young couple showed up New Year's Eve without a reservation and all the rooms and cabins were full, Alejandro and Frances called other B&Bs in Ushuaia until they found a place for them.
We were sad when it was time to leave, they made us feel like friends and family.

overall positive stay for 3 nights. the uphill walk from town is 18 minutes for us middle ages folk. the breakfast is self made in yr good size cabin. Its not too bad with heavy luggage if you use a taxi. Its clean quiet and comfortable. good choice.

we slept in one of the cabanas outside and it was just perfect, there was a big bedroom with twin beds, a bathroom with shower and bathtub and a living room with sofa's and a kitchen fully equiped. every day they refill the fridge with breakfast, milk, juice, bread, butter, jam, coffee and tea. there is also a tv with dvd player and free wi-fi in the cabana. they clean every day so it is spotless clean. the location is also great, close to the supermarket, museum and the center street, the owner is also very friendly and helpfull what made this place absolutly perfect for us!!!

We stayed in the house. Our room was quite small but the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. We shared a bathroom with another room (which we knew when we booked) and this worked out fine. Alejandro and Frances are very friendly and helpful and booked us on the Pira tour penguin tour (the only tour that actually lands on the island) before we arrived as places are limited. Breakfast is served around a big table so you can chat to other guests who come to eat at the same time as you - we learned some useful info from people who had already been to some of the places we were heading to - thanks to the French couple who said El Chalten was a must. There were 2 computers with high speed broadband available for guests to use all day/evening which was a better facility than in some larger places. Location was good as it was only a short walk to the main street and harbour area. All in all a great place to stay.
