The Mirador del Lago is a short walk to the main stretch of stores and restaurants in El Calafate. It's a comfortable, clean hotel that is a convenient base for many day trips in Patagonia. The breakfast buffet has a lot of variety and ample local favorites like medialunas (their version of the croissant) and dulce de leche. Breakfast is served in a room overlooking the lake. The receptionists were extremely helpful regarding excursions and tour providers. The room was fine - nothing luxurious but perfectly comfortable and a good value.

Excellent breakfast, nice clean rooms. Six to ten blocks distance of Calafate shops and restaurants.

Would be ok if not so terribly noisy in the room! The walls and ceiilings were probably, made of paper, or at least this was my impression. Place is a little too much motel - styled as for me, but generally clean and well mainteined. Located outside the city, so it is better to take a taxi to get there, unless you don't mind walking in the cold wind - actually it is not that far.
But the noise in the room was terrible.

this hotel was very nice. there was a bar & restaurant and the staff was very nice. it is a short walk to the town and to the bus station. but, the best part about the location is that it is on the way to the glacier park so you are the last person to be picked up on the bus tour rather than sitting on the bus while it picks up people at the 100 other hotels before getting to you. the walls are thin so you can hear everything in the room next door. but no worse than the streets of san francisco. one thing - skip the boxed lunch from the hotel - there is a restaurant at the glacier park where you can buy a much better lunch.
