Front desk could use a smile but otherwise good common areas, good buffet breakfast, and very clean. The hotel seems to have very thin walls and you could hear the neighbors, water pipes, etc. although it never woke us up or prevented us from falling asleep at night (perhaps we were exhausted from all of our excursions?). The location is not central but if you are in average shape it's a 10 minute stroll into downtown Calafate.

It's a little out of town but a nice, new, clean place to stay. The staff is excellent and the views are fantastic. I would stay here again, no complaints.

We stayed in a lake view room at Mirador for two nights. The location is at the edge of the town but the distance from the centre of the town is less than 500 meters. In fact you love to walk this little distance at a nice cool temperature with Patagonial wind blowing away the whole day tiredness. The lake view room was large and a very comfortable nice sofa at the window added to its splendour . The view of the lake and the snow peaked mountain from the room was simply mind blowing. In fact you can just relax on this sofa with a drink and enjoy the great view for hours. The staff was great and all of them were extremely helpful. I need to make special mention of a lady staff Corola ( I forget the full name) who translated all the menu items in English for our understanding and helped us to Visit Laguna Nimez.. Our tours to all glaciers on the first day and Perito moreno on the second day were well planned. As the hotel is little outside the town the bus picks you up at the last and you can enjoy your breakfast in thie extra 30 minutes. Would recommend this hotel to all.

We stayed at the Mirador twice and both times were impressed by the great staff, they were very helpful and went out of their way to assist us. Both of the rooms we had were large, clean and well appointed. The hotel has 4 computers with free internet for those without a laptop, and a nice lounge area. The hotel is right at the edge of town but it is only short walk to shops and restaurants. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
