“Gorgeous Location”

During our first visit to Bariloche in '08, we stayed at another 3* hotel on the main street of St. Martin. While walking around, we discovered the Cacique Inacayal which had just opened but wasn't totally completed. When we knew we were coming back, we insisted with our travel agent that we wanted to stay in this hotel as it's directly on the lake. And we're so glad we insisted! The weather was perfect for volcano viewing, and the views across the lake are fantastic. Our room was directly on the lake (superior, corner room) -- we could hear the waves pounding on the shore -- yes, the lake was very rough. The only problem: the terrace for the bar area was directly above our room and the wrought iron furniture made a racket. My husband went onto the terrace the next day and turned all the chairs over onto their side (no one could sit outside as it was too breezy), and that night we slept.

The tub is a high step up so just be careful!

The breakfast buffet was more than satisfactory. There was a Grand Circle tour group there at the same time so it was crowded, but service was more than adequate. It's about a 10 min. walk to the center of town.

“Too far from downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

The hotel is located on the lake and has wonderful views of the late and two volcanos if you are lucky enough to get the lakeside room. Unfortunately my room overlooked a parking lot.
It was extremely hot while I was there (90's) and there is no airconditioning, so the room was very hot and uncomfortable. The hotel is a long walk to downtown - easy for younger people, but a difficult walk for elderly folks. Breakfast is good. Hotel has a rustic decor which I liked.

Room Tip: Ask for lakeside.

“At the heart of the city of chocolate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

My wife and I came across this hotel after the one we had booked had let us down. It was a godsend for us. The staff were welcoming and very helpful and the room we were given at such short notice was very comfortable. The view of the lake was only partial as we were on the side of the hotel but that was no real drawback. From the the indoor pool and sun deck the view of the lake was great. The hotel is centrally placed so that you can reach the main shopping centre and restaurants in 5-10 min walk. We were there in the run-up to Christmas 2010 and the city was festive without being in your face. It is famous for its chocolate but has much else to offer and is a good base from exploring the area by car. Don't miss the simple but beautiful cathedral near the lake on the northern side.

Room Tip: Lake views are better but all rooms are very good.

“Beautiful view”

Stayed here during off season and had a beautiful room right on the lake. The hotel was very empty so we enjoyed having the amazing pool and hot tub to ourselves. Surprisingly, the restaurant by the pool was very good. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.
