My wife and I got married in October 2010 and went to Argentina and Brazil on a two week honeymoon. We flew right into Bariloche through EZE and after a 40 minute cab ride, a few dirt roads, a few more concerned looks between my wife and I, we pulled into Aldebaran. After 20 hours of travelling, it was great to be somewhere. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we pulled up, helping us take our bags up to the room (Cerro Lopez Room). After marveling at how nice and rustic-looking the rooms were we opened the window and saw a beautiful blue lake and a towering mountain. Unbelievable.
The hotel got us set up with lunch and a fantastic Malbec on the veranda and we ate (the breakfasts overall were fantastic, lunches and dinners were very good) After lunch we set up massages (good, not great) and talked to the staff about renting a car. (N.B. - you need to rent a car if you're going to stay here. You're a few miles off the beaten path with this hotel in between Bariloche and Llao Llao and cabs can get expensive and time consuming). Not only did they help us rent a car, but they had the car delivered to the hotel.
Throughout our four days there we got to know the staff a little bit and they got to know us. Every question or desire we had was addressed with a smile. The recommendations were spot on every time (especially Butterfly, absolutely the best food experience of our lives).
We were one of three couples at the hotel and the other two were from Texas and incredibly friendly.
Not much more to say except if your budget permits and you're going to be in Bariloche, stay here.
