“Wonderful Oasis”

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The hotel was well maintained and the staff were courteous and very helpful. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an experience off the beaten path. The relatively remote location offers serenity and peace not available in the city center. The views are lovely as well. The common areas of the hotel were also lovely.

Room Tip: We would recommend requesting one of the rooms on the top level or the mid level (as opposed to the...

“Excellent boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We were lodged in two surprisingly comfortable rooms. The attention was personalized and excellent at all times. Estefy made us feel welcomed.
All the rooms, the dinning area and the spa have amazing lake views.
We had the pleasure of having dinner at Aldebaran five times and Santiago, their in-house chef, made some amazing dishes. We were very impressed!!!
Overall, we highly recommend Aldebaran for its fabulous location, their wonderful rooms, the level of compromise with client's satisfaction that all personnel display and the priviledged views.
This hotel is better enjoyed if you have a car.

“Beautiful accommodation in a perfect setting.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

About a 22km drive outside the city of Bariloche (so, about 30km from the airport) on a peninsula that juts into Lake Nahuel Huapi. The accommodation is elegant, private and has the most beautiful views across the lake to magnificent snow-capped mountains.

The staff were a model of good service. The food in the retaurant was limited when we stayed (the season had been badly affected by the Chilean volcano and Bariloche airport had been closed for some time - we arrived in late September on the day it re-opened), but even then was very good.

The room we had was great: spacious, comfortable, fantastic views and a huge bathroom.

A perfect place for a few days of luxury down time.

“The warmth of home with”

I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2010. I was absolutely wonderful...the design is spectacular, the hotel has the warmth of home and is decorated with impeccable taste and an eye for beautiful craftsmanship. The staff was lovely. Warm and welcoming manner and always ready to assist with making plans. We use it as a base for exploring the surrounding areas (hiking an fishing) so didn't much mind that it wasn't centrally located. There is no lake access in the property, but a spectacular view. My only (very minor) complaint is the indoor/outdoor pool had a divider in the middle, so I wasn't possible to swim laps. The dining is excellent, and reflects local cuisine with seasonal local ingredients, And though it is pricy, the atmosphere is comfortable/casual. It's also not hard, or too expensive to get a cab to eat elsewhere if you are looking for something more basic. I look forward to returning!

“A Hotel Amazing Enough to Follow Our Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2011

My wife and I got married in October 2010 and went to Argentina and Brazil on a two week honeymoon. We flew right into Bariloche through EZE and after a 40 minute cab ride, a few dirt roads, a few more concerned looks between my wife and I, we pulled into Aldebaran. After 20 hours of travelling, it was great to be somewhere. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we pulled up, helping us take our bags up to the room (Cerro Lopez Room). After marveling at how nice and rustic-looking the rooms were we opened the window and saw a beautiful blue lake and a towering mountain. Unbelievable.

The hotel got us set up with lunch and a fantastic Malbec on the veranda and we ate (the breakfasts overall were fantastic, lunches and dinners were very good) After lunch we set up massages (good, not great) and talked to the staff about renting a car. (N.B. - you need to rent a car if you're going to stay here. You're a few miles off the beaten path with this hotel in between Bariloche and Llao Llao and cabs can get expensive and time consuming). Not only did they help us rent a car, but they had the car delivered to the hotel.

Throughout our four days there we got to know the staff a little bit and they got to know us. Every question or desire we had was addressed with a smile. The recommendations were spot on every time (especially Butterfly, absolutely the best food experience of our lives).

We were one of three couples at the hotel and the other two were from Texas and incredibly friendly.

Not much more to say except if your budget permits and you're going to be in Bariloche, stay here.
